Yara is searching for a high performing Senior Manager Strategy, Projects and Business Development to join the team. 

 

BU Nordics are one out of three BU’s in Yara Europe. The day to day business is executed in each country under the leadership of locally based VPs. The SVP Nordics has a small team working across all countries providing competence and support for governance, business execution and project and strategy support. The Senior Manager position for strategy, projects and business development is a part of this cross-functional and regional team. The Nordic cross-functional team drives the strategy and growth agenda, manages key strategic projects and initiatives, and supports the Yara regional and functional units with strategy and project development.

 

The position reports to the SVP Nordics, and will be based in Oslo or in any other commercial hub within the BU Nordics (Malmø, Helsinki, Fredericia).

About the Role and What You Will Do

 

  • As a manager for strategy, projects and business development you will lead projects which help Yara shape its strategic agenda and move ahead in strategy execution.  
  • You will also represent the BU in various European/Corporate projects and initiatives requiring strong support from the BU. 
  • The BU also from time to time do small bolt on acquisitions and you will be a key contributor into these projects. 
  • In addition, you will collaborate with the Yara Europe team and stakeholders across Yara to jointly shape Yara’s strategic agenda and priorities. You will work alongside and get exposure to leaders and experts across Yara Europe and corporate functions. 
  • You will develop materials and drive presentations towards the BU management and Yara Europe (YEU).
  • You will be working in an international and high paced environment; some travel to be expected.

Your Profile

 

  • Higher university degree, preferably at master’s level or equivalent.
  • Strong project management experience, preferably from management consulting or similar roles in industrial companies with a minimum of 5 years work experience.
  • Experience from large-scale corporate strategy projects, business development or M&A projects, and excellent professional performance is beneficial. 
  • If you are familiar with farming practices or the food value chain, this is an advantage, but not a must.
  • As a person you are structured with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, have a can-do attitude and drive. 
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and you enjoy working in a stimulating and international environment.
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge about one or more of the languages used in the region is an advantage.
