We are seeking to recruit an Operator for our solid fertilizer Terminal on Avonmouth Docks near Bristol.
Reporting to the Terminal Manager the successful candidate will be part of a small operations team, under the supervision of the Terminal Manager and Lead Operator they will undertake various duties as required in fertilizer bagging and storage terminal.
Responsibilities
- Work in accordance with relevant legislation, Company Health & Safety Policy, Yara Safety Principles and the Golden Rules.
- Follow procedures and risk assessments relevant to area of responsibility.
- Follow continuous improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and have a high safety awareness to improve the safety culture.
- Bag products following plant operating procedures in accordance with specifications to meet market demands.
- Movement of raw material on site using heavy plant machinery ie loading shovel, forklift truck.
- Weighbridge / Despatch Operations
- Basic plant & site maintenance task
Profile
The ideal candidate should:
- Experience within an operational environment
- General level of school education.
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Excel and SAP Knowledge advantageous)
- A good general level of fitness, a good head for heights and candidate will be required to work in all weather conditions.
- Have a flexible approach to working hours.
- Full driving licence
Following are desirable but not essential as full training will be given:
- A knowledge of fertilizer product storage and handling process
- A knowledge of operating procedures and safe systems of work
- A knowledge of plant and equipment maintenance requirements
- Fork lift and loading shovel experience
