Deputy Manager - Human Resources

Yara Fertilizers India Pvt Ltd is a 100% subsidiary of Yara International ASA. Yara has supplied fertilizers as well as fertilizer raw materials to the Indian market for over two decades. Yara India has continuously strengthened its footprint in Western and Southern India by providing Crop nutrition solutions with combination of Premium products and Knowledge through unique Farmer centric approach.

Yara’s philosophy is to connect with thousands of farmers at the grass root level and has a strong commitment to serving the agriculture sector in India, thereby improving the livelihood of Indian farmer. To leverage on this and to expand into the northern & eastern geographies of India, Yara acquired Tata Chemicals’ 1.2 MN MT Urea plant in UP, Northern India. With this acquisition Yara India’s scale of operation has grown significantly.

Role & Responsibilities

The role is responsible for managing key people processes across the employee lifecycle at the Babrala site, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and workforce strategy. The position partners with business leaders to drive manpower planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee engagement, and recognition initiatives while ensuring smooth execution of employee confirmations. The role contributes to building a strong talent pipeline, enhancing employee experience, and fostering a culture of performance, appreciation, and engagement within the organization.

Employee Engagement & Experience

  • Analyze engagement survey diagnostics, interpret people analytics, and partner with leadership to develop targeted intervention roadmaps.
  • Facilitate structured engagement initiatives and culture-building programs aligned with organizational objectives towards strengthening culture.
  • Support employee experience enhancement through lifecycle touchpoint optimization and feedback-loop mechanisms.

Reward & Recognition

  • Lead deployment and governance of site-level reward and recognition frameworks aligned with total rewards philosophy and performance differentiation principles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to execute recognition cycles reinforcing organizational values, behavioral competencies, and performance outcomes.
  • Shape recognition communication strategies that strengthen employee motivation and reinforce employer value messaging.

DE&I

  • Embed DE&I principles into hiring, performance evaluation, promotions, and succession planning.
  • Track gender and diversity representation across levels.
  • Design focused interventions to enhance women’s leadership participation and career progression.
  • Partner with relevant stakeholders to ensure safe, equitable and inclusive workplace practices aligned with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act.
  • Lead inclusion awareness initiatives (bias sensitisation, inclusive leadership conversations).

Talent Acquisition

  • Partner with senior leadership to translate business priorities into workforce plans, talent demand forecasting, and capability mapping.
  • Drive end-to-end talent acquisition lifecycle including sourcing strategy design, competency-based assessment, behavioral interviewing, and offer governance aligned with workforce strategy.
  • Manage stakeholder calibration, selection panel alignment, and hiring decision frameworks to ensure quality-of-hire and time-to-fill optimization.
  • Administer internal mobility processes including job postings, talent redeployment, and succession pipeline support aligned with talent management principles.
  • Ensure adherence to recruitment governance, diversity considerations, employer branding standards, and compliance with defined TA metrics and KPIs.

Onboarding & Integration

  • Design and execute structured onboarding architecture supporting workforce assimilation, cultural alignment, and early productivity acceleration.
  • Partner with functional stakeholders to deliver capability alignment and role-readiness interventions.
  • Monitor onboarding effectiveness through feedback analytics and retention indicators to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Education and Experience

  • Education: MBA in human resources from a Premier Institute. Consistent academic performance with a minimum of 60% marks. 
  • Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in core HRBP/Generalist roles, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing ecosystem.

Preferred Skills

  • Demonstrated exposure to managing integrated HR lifecycle processes including workforce planning, competency-based hiring, engagement diagnostics, and talent integration initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of HR governance, policy interpretation, and compliance frameworks.
  • Proficiency in stakeholder partnering, influencing leadership decisions, and managing cross-functional alignment.
  • Working knowledge of HR analytics, metrics interpretation, and translating data insights into people interventions.
  • Familiarity with talent management constructs such as succession planning, capability mapping, and performance calibration.
  • Strong execution orientation with structured program management capability across multiple HR workstreams.
  • Excellent communication capability with ability to manage sensitive people matters and organizational dynamics.
