Profile

The Industrial Hospital Pharmacist will be responsible for managing pharmaceutical services within the plant's healthcare facility. This includes dispensing medications, providing first aid, supporting occupational health initiatives, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The role is pivotal in maintaining the health and well-being of township residents through effective medication management and health education.

Role and Responsibilities

Overall responsible for Total Drug Inventory Management:

  • Medicines indenting as per defined systems and process.
  • Ensuring Medicines movement and record keeping with quarterly auding with cross functional team for quality assurance.
  • To provide quality health care to patients and managing patient in OPD/IPD/FA treatment.
  • Accurately dispense prescribed medications to employees, ensuring correct dosages and administration methods.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of pharmaceuticals, including procurement, PR generation based on consumption & allocated budget and storage in compliance with safety standards.
  • Monitor medication usage and manage stock levels to prevent expiry, shortages or overstocking.
  • Follow FIFIO & 5-S for storage of medicines.
  • Ensure good housekeeping in the department/section.

First Aid and Emergency Care:

  • Provide immediate first aid and basic treatment for workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Assist in emergency response situations, including chemical exposures or accidents, until advanced medical help arrives.
  • To provide quality nursing care to patients and managing patient in O P D/IPD/FA treatment.
  • Administration of First aid ' Injections, dispensing of medicines, and medical records maintenance.
  • Maintain and regularly inspect first aid boxes/kits and emergency medical equipment.

Occupational Health Support:

  • Collaborate with occupational health professionals to monitor and manage health risks associated with chemical exposure and other workplace hazards.
  • To conduct and participate in Pre, post & periodic health checkup programs & health camps and monitoring of chronic conditions among employees.
  • Educate employees on occupational health practices.

Regulatory Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure all pharmaceutical practices comply with local and national regulations related to pharmacy (e.g. Pharmacy Act, Drugs & Cosmetics act, Acts pertaining to Scheduled-H1, Narcotics drugs etc.), including the Factories Act and occupational health standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of dispensed medications, employee health data, and incident reports as per defined ISO processes.
  • Prepare reports for Inventory variation, expiry & consumptions for internal audits and regulatory inspections as required.
  • Ensure that Health Centre waste / medical waste is managed in a proper manner as per the guidelines of bio-medical waste disposal act / rules.
  • Investigate each environmental incident occurring in the department/section and implement remedial measures.
  • ake round in the department/section to identify and rectify any adverse condition related to environment.
  • List all conditions having environmental impacts which cannot be corrected immediately and seek assistance from the HOD to rectify the same. Suggest and implement suitable remedial measures.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with doctors, other paramedical staff, safety officers, and management to develop and implement health policies and procedures.
  • Yearly goal setting exercises as per company’s guidelines, implementation of action plans in line with that & quarterly review of the goal status with line manager.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees & patients on medication usage and health practices.
  • Having basic knowledge of ISO, computer & MS office (Word, excel & PPT).
  • Responsible for defined roles in ISO & any other work assigned time to time by superiors and assist others to deliver their work.

Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (B. Pharma) or Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharma) from a recognized institution.

  • Registration: Must hold a valid registration with the Uttar Pradesh State Pharmacy Council.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience after completing B. Pharma, or

    • 5–8 years of experience after completing D. Pharma.

    • Experience should be in a reputed hospital, healthcare facility, or an industrial hospital pharmacy setting—preferably within the chemical or manufacturing industry.

  • Work Schedule: Role may involve shift duties, weekend coverage, and on-call responsibilities aligned with plant operations.
