Crop Manager - Midwest / Northeastern U.S. & Eastern Canada

The Crop Manager - Midwest/Northeastern US & Eastern Canada will be leading the development of Yara North America crop specific solutions including R&D, crop programs, marketing content, training and support. Focus will be to add value to farmers and our customers, utilizing technical as well as commercial knowledge on a regionally important crops and the cropping system. As a part of the Market Development Team, the Crop Manager - Midwest/Northeastern US & Eastern Canada will also lead campaigns focused on growth initiatives in defined regions with commercial teams. The Crop Manager - Midwest/Northeastern US & Eastern Canada will also work collaboratively with sales and marketing teams to support and provide leadership in the market access strategy across North America related to specific crops of expertise. 

The Crop Manager - Midwest/Northeastern U.S. & Eastern Canada reports to Trey Cutts, Market Development Manager. 

Position is home based within the Midwest / Northeastern U.S..

  • Work alongside sales and marketing organizations to define, develop and lead the Yara crop nutrition solution and value proposition for specific crop segments
  • Lead the deployment of new products/ digital tools in market as they apply to each crop or region
  • Define and direct R&D programs to substantiate the value proposition to farmers
  • Become the technical reference to the industry for specific crops
  • Translate field crop data into simple and understandable unique selling propositions
  • Work cross-functionally to lead the development and execution of crop marketing campaigns; which includes leading the development of crop specific marketing content
  • Proactively seek collaborative partnerships with food processing companies where applicable
  • Define Yara’s message at crop related events, acting as the spokesperson when needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or Ag related field. Master’s degree may be an advantage
  • 5 years working experience in commercial positions in similar industries, preferably with value added fertilizers exposure and digital tools experience
  • Extensive knowledge of cropping systems within Midwest / Northeastern U.S. & Eastern Canada
  • Agronomic expertise in potato and specialty crop production preferred
  • Experience with Precison Ag platforms or GIS a plus
  • CCA (Certified Crop Advisor) is preferred 
  • Experience in holding presentations to small or large audiences
  • Market segmentation experience is a plus
  • Business oriented with extensive market, crop, and product knowledge
  • Possess excellent communication and influencing skills, coupled with solid customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in MS office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, as well as digital tools
Additional Information
  • Must be an American citizen or lawful permanent resident 
  • Extensive travelling, requiring a valid driver’s license
