About Crop and Digital Solutions

Yara aims to be the crop nutrition company for the future and is leading the development of sustainable agriculture and digital tools to contribute to solving global agricultural challenges. Yara Farming Solutions, will lead the transformation towards more sustainable and efficient food production, by innovating our offerings and the way we work. Crop and Digital Solutions is responsible developing and scaling new “on-farm” digital and integrated tools and solutions for an efficient and transparent food system.


  • Manage a tier of software engineers (developers, QA, architects etc) taking full responsibility for their needs, career growth and compensation. Be an Engineering discipline manager participating in a matrix organisation where disciplines cut across product teams. 
  • Be a technical consultant and a go-to person when it comes to technical needs from teams, or requirements gathering from Solution managers to suggest right approach in design, process or practices.
  • Work with DevOps team to address infrastructural requirements from solution teams, in collaboration with Engineering Discipline Lead.
  • Responsible for working on vendor requirements, on-boarding/off-boarding and engagement for involved teams as well as scope of work definitions in consultation with the Engineering Discipline Lead.
  • Have a forward-looking attitude towards understanding technical trends and future-proofing, and steer in-house solutions in the right direction. 


  • Experience working on mobile application development on at least two projects from inception to scaling, preferably using our technologies (Javascript, React, React native & Nodejs).
  • Working experience with at least one cloud service provider such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud leveraging their PaaS and IaaS offerings for building applications (we are on AWS and leverage API Gateway, Lambda, Kubernetes, DynamoDB, RDS PostgreSQL, Cloud-front etc).
  • At least two years of managing software development teams involving roles such as developers, Quality Assurance Testers, Automation engineers and Architects, managing their career progressions. Should have worked in the capacity of a senior/lead developer or a solution architect for mobile & web applications, guiding technical teams in achieving deliverables.
  • Follow software development best practices in scaling & provisioning infrastructure, technology governance, CI/CD (CircleCI & Jenkins), automation, QA processes (Load, performance, functional, regression, BDD & unit-tests), service reviews, documentation etc.
  • Should have worked in an Agile environment managing intra and inter-team dependencies with clearly defined roles and responsibilities and with scrum methodology practices.
