Responsibilities
The E&A Maintenance Technician is accountable to the E&A Maintenance Supervisor for working safely in an industrial chemical plant facility to provide technical preventative maintenance plan execution and troubleshooting & repair of process Instrumentation (automation) and electrical equipment. This includes regularly planned activities, emergency unplanned activities, scheduled turn-around and quick outage activities in a safe, cost effective and efficient work execution, providing the utmost of quality workmanship to ensure the highest degree of running plant reliability.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain instrumentation (field devices, transmitters, control valves, trip/anti-surge valves, nuclear level measurement systems) and electrical systems (13.8kV switchgear, motors, protective relays, transformers, power distribution, and heat tracing circuits).

Troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment both online and offline as necessary.

Ensure a safe working environment via Pre-Task Analysis, SOPs, SJAs, risk assessments, and Safe Work Permits.

Complete planned work packages efficiently, maintaining safety and quality standards while documenting work history and verification.

Contribute to reliability efforts by updating red-line drawings (P&IDs, loop drawings, schematics), addressing deficiencies, and supporting the Document Management System (DMS).

Participate in 24/7 on-call support, perform overtime emergency repairs as required, and coordinate with offsite contractors.

Adapt to schedules, provide effective feedback, and work collaboratively within the team.
Education & Experience
As the successful candidate you will hold:
- Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma from an accredited institution is preferred, along with one or both of the following:
- Journeypersons Red-Seal certificate in the field of Instrumentation & Controls Systems Technician.
- Journeypersons Red-Seal certificate in the field of Electrician accompanied by a valid Electrical License in the province of Saskatchewan.
- Previous experience of 5+ years in an industrial process/petrochemical facility specializing in complex diagnostics, repair, maintenance and installation of industrial instrumentation and electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of SAP (or similar planning software), DCS and PLC interface experience, comprehensive basic computer and software navigations. Familiarity and compliance of the Canadian Electrical Code references.
- Familiarity and a sound experience with the various types of test equipment and their methods to perform Instrumentation and Electrical daily duties.
- Journeypersons Red-Seal certificate in the field of Electrician is an asset but not required at this hiring opportunity as this training can also be accommodated through apprenticeship on site.
