Responsibilities
- Technical Product Strategy Lead - strikes a balance between becoming overly tech driven or overly product driven. Able to engage with and advise mid and long term product strategy discussions on the basis of technical feasibility, options/alternatives and untapped technical options.
- Point person for all Engineering decision making within the business vertical. Responsible for advising Business heads and Product Leads on roadmap structuring, prioritisation, standards and release management during intake process as well as day-to-day discussions.
- Participate in long-term product strategy decision-making and balance product decisions and technology decisions to achieve the right outcome for the business.
- Work hand-in-hand with individual team leads, managers and architects to orchestrate and drive delivery while managing dependencies across squads.
- Champion engineering best practices and drive engineering efforts to ensure security, scalability and performance of our systems.
- Lead business-line architects in creating and auditing internal software architecture, integrations with third-party platforms and build-vs-buy decisions, in-line with supporting a fast growing customer-base and evolving business requirements.
- Work with Regional Discipline leads and Country Managers for team creation and squad hiring. Collaborate with Product Leads on proposing project assignments to teams in different locations.
- Drive squads to execute against a standard definition-of-done & release checklists in conjunction with maturity of product.
- Be a champion of data-driven decision making and a voice for change based on measuring various aspects of product lifecycle - agile metrics, service & platform health metrics, metrics from product adoption etc.
- Mentor or groom other technical leaders and architects to enable long term career growth and succession planning in the AgTech Retailer space.
Profile
- Proven track record of building platforms and products with high performing engineering teams in at least two major projects with a large global user base. Prior experience in a similar role in AgTech Retailer space is highly preferred.
- A strong background in Software Development - either in architecture, platform strategy or engineering management - delivering web and mobile products with extensive knowledge in cloud based services and infrastructures.
- Strong design, architecture, and problem solving skills. Deep understanding of service-oriented and microservices architectural patterns, troubleshooting methods and best practices.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, deployment and operations.
- A pragmatic approach in understanding what is needed to get things done in a collaborative and cross functional manner.
- You aim towards making your decision data-driven and the outcome measurable, while being open for experimentation and iteration.
