(Senior or Mid) Software Engineer - Back End Engineering

About the Unit

Yara aims to be the crop nutrition company for the future and is leading the development of sustainable agriculture and digital tools to contribute to solving global agricultural challenges. We have a worldwide presence with sales teams in ~150 countries and around 17,000 employees.

Drawing on over a century of crop nutrition experience, Yara established the Digital Farming unit – now Yara AgTech (YAT) – 5 years ago to explore how technology could be used to impact farmer livelihoods and productivity. Today, YAT has built products for smallholder and professional farmers, retailers and other farming ecosystem stakeholders across Asia, Africa, the Americas and Europe.

Responsibilities

Write, test, and maintain high-quality code.
Participate in code reviews, providing feedback to other team members to maintain code quality and consistency.
Work on implementing new features, fixing bugs, and ensuring that the software functions as intended.
Align with company's strategies and objectives.
Collaborating with product management to work towards achieving the company’s and team’s goals.
Contribute to technical decisions and strategy to further the long-term product vision.

Profile

Have min 4+ years of experience building scalable backend services
Experience with production-grade software design and implementation using Node.js (NestJS framework).
Experience with JavaScript and Typescript.
Experience with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and optionally NoSQL (e.g. MongoDb, Redis).
Experience with AWS & Kubernetes is nice to have.
Experience with Enterprise Confluent Kafka clusters including multi-region broker setup, clustering, Mirror Maker, Replication, Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, ksqlDB etc is nice to have.
Have a strong desire to learn new technologies, programming languages, and development methodologies.
