Sales Agronomist (F/M/D)

We at Yara are part of a global network, collaborating to profitably and responsibly solve some of the world's key challenges - resource scarcity, food insecurity and environmental change.

We are reducing agriculture’s global greenhouse gas emissions to improve the world we live in!

The Agoro Carbon Alliance is creating a new solution to our planet’s carbon challenge that’s grounded in the soil. Agoro Carbon addresses a key global problem, the impact of agriculture’s global greenhouse gas emissions on our climate and the implementation of sustainable carbon capturing potential at farm while providing a new income stream to farmers worldwide. Our passion lies in developing a global carbon alliance built around a portfolio of carbon smart farming practices that help farmers reduce their environmental footprint. As one of the early movers in this market, we are building a team who will use their collective knowledge on carbon practices, our global presence, our digital and data capabilities and our strong relationships with the food value chain to pioneer an industry shaping business.

What you will be doing

  • As the Carbon Cropping Agronomist you will have responsibility for Agoro Carbon Alliance sales and agronomic activity within your geography.
  • You will enroll farmers in Agoro’s carbon alliance program while ensuring a high level of customer support during the early adoption stages of the practice change.
  • Your ability to understand the impact of change management at the farm level is required to help farmers successfully manage their businesses while capturing further revenue streams.
  • You will work as part of a team to develop and continue to iterate on the agronomic value proposition.
  • You continuously upgrade your knowledge on the latest conservation and regenerative agriculture practices and assess their suitability to be included in the Agoro alliance.

What you will bring

  • A Bachelor's degree in Agronomy or Agriculture related field. Advanced knowledge with a Master's or PhD degree is an advantage.
  • Experience in similar roles and industries including familiarity with change management and local crop production practices.
  • A passion for sustainability and conservation/regenerative practices that is infectious and drives confidence in farmers to follow your lead.
  • Several years of experience selling and implementing direct-to-grower facing programs and initiatives  (open to profiles from agricultural inputs, agriculture technology, forestry, land conservation etc.)
  • Market knowledge, with good network of growers who share your passion for continuous improvement. Experience presenting to small or large audiences in a fun and engaging way.
  • A track record of exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills that inspires confidence and trust. A mix of entrepreneurial spirit and agronomic acumen is an ideal combination
  • Sales DNA: Be the face of Agoro to the customer – leverage relationship selling and data gathering to deliver a high quality customer experience
  • Grower-oriented mindset: be able to translate solution offerings into “the language of the retailer or  grower”

Why work with us

  • We offer the opportunity to drive change by globally reducing carbon emissions while financially supporting growers.
  • You would be working with a globally dispersed and diverse team.  We adopt a virtual-first approach, where we encourage face-to-face collaboration, but are focused on recruiting the best talent.
