Yara Americas is Yara’s arm in North, Central and South America. We operate in 12 countries and have more than 6,000 employees. Yara Americas has an ambitious strategic agenda that strives to lead the way in Yara’s transformational journey, leveraging on a great mix of highly engaged and committed people, with a diversity of cultures.
Yara Americas’ Strategy and M&A team is responsible for driving the Americas strategy and business development activities in the region. The team drives the regional strategy and growth agenda, key strategic projects and supports the market and functional units with strategy development including M&A projects. The team works closely with the corporate team, Americas’ Leadership, the different local business units and other functions. We are a small but highly impactful team.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, you will lead strategy projects and initiatives, which help Yara Americas shape its strategic agenda and move ahead in strategy execution. Projects will cover both evolving Yara’s existing crop nutrition business, as well as innovation topics in new business areas to expand and grow Yara’s portfolio and can include M&A projects. You will collaborate with stakeholders across Yara to jointly shape Yara Americas’ strategic agenda and priorities. You will work alongside and get exposure to leaders and experts across Americas and Global markets and functions.
Responsibilities include:

• Drive the operationalization of the regional strategy, as well as the strategic planning processes.

• Be an ambassador of the regional strategy and contribute to building alignment and consensus across
the organization.

• Lead regional strategic projects, leveraging resources from across the organization, from and outside the region.

• Support regional M&A projects, including strategic investments, divestments and partnerships. Support and drive investment decision processes following Yara's capital value approach.

• Contribute to shaping and prioritizing the regional pipeline of strategic and M&A projects.

• Develop materials and drive presentations on Yara's Global Executive Board and Board of Directors.

Profile

The right candidate should have:

• Master’s degree or equivalent, MBA is a desired plus
• Strong project management experience preferably from top management consulting, investment banking or similar roles in industrial companies.
• Experience in large-scale corporate strategy projects, business development or M&A projects and strong stakeholders’ management track record.

• Have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills,
• Enjoy working collaboratively in teams in a stimulating and international environment.
• Have strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
• Have Strategic mindset, strong business judgement and ability to think holistically and “see the big picture”
• Have the ability to constructively challenge established practices and processes when required.
• English is the working language in the team. Spanish or Portuguese are required (both is a plus).

The position will be based preferably on Colombia (Bogota) or Mexico (Guadalajara). North America (Tampa) or Brazil (Sao Paulo) could be an option too. Availability to travel within the region and occasionally outside is required.
