Biological Portfolio Manager

About the Unit

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Country Manager and having national responsibility for the Biological range in Australia, the Biological Portfolio Manager will collaborate and participate in the development and implementation of the growth strategy for YaraVita and YaraAmplix (the biological range in Australia)

The Biological Portfolio Manager has a supporting commercial role.  the primary focus is on activities related to demand creation and awareness generation for YaraVita and YaraAmplix.  Success is measured by sales volumes and product contributions, as well as demand creation activities such as customer training, agronomy training, demo trials and field days, in full coordination with commercial teams to achieve overall commercial sales objectives.

The incumbent will also be responsible for:

Strategy

  • Strong understanding of crop nutrition and biostimulant products to create unique value propositions for customers, crops or market segments.  Strong commercial experience with knowledge of competitor's products and pricing 
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, regulatory, supply chain and commercial teams within the unit
  • Directly manage a technical resource focused on biostimulant development in Australia

Market/Product and Demand creation

  • Plan strategic and operational activities to ensure development and growth in line with project expectations
  • Analyze market opportunities to create a value proposition that supports pricing for the YaraAmplix product line
  • Coordinate actions to execute the volume plan and product mix per customer with the sales team
  • Exhibit a proactive attitude that influences the culture across various business areas
  • Facilitate indirect delivery of volume, turnover and margin to support growth expectations and costs associated with business development
  • Maintain work plans and relationships with key influencers in the operating region
  • Collaborate with the YAA regional and the Global innovation teams to communicate opportunities and market requirements
  •  Support the relationship between A&L Biologicals and internal Yara product development
  • Coordinate actions to create sales campaigns aligned with marketing efforts in partnership with regional, local marketing and business development teams
  • Evaluate competitor actions in the operating region and define measures to respond effectively, impacting business results
  • Establish technical training and value sales plans for development and sales teams

HESQ, Ethics & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Product Stewardship and E&C requirements
  • Undertake all HESQ training as required
  • Apply knowledge and skills from all areas of HESQ and actively promote and take part in HESQ activities as required by the business and personal KPI's
  • Perform job role safely, minimizing the impact of potential issues and threats
  • Work closely with the Australia organization to support specific regulatory and quality aspects of new portfolio of products
  • Comply to Yara's Code of Conduct, policies and procedures and the Yara Compliance program
  • Follow all company Policies and Procedures

Profile

University Degree in Agriculture/Science/Business Marketing (preferred)

Minimum 5 years working experience within the segment of Foliars and Biostimulants 

Deep understanding of agriculture business and specifically plant nutrition.

Strong commercial mindset, enthusiastic and reliable.

Knowledge of marketing, market and customer segmentation, business strategy and analysis, sales techniques, conflict management, planning, customer relations, negotiation techniques, communication, people management, leadership, interpersonal relationships, persuasion, systemic vision, and product development.

Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written
