Operations Manager

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Country Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing all operational activities across the business. This includes demand planning, purchasing, logistics, inventory management, warehousing, and customer service operations. Key customer service responsibilities include managing team and systems on processing purchase orders and invoicing, managing customer complaints, overseeing quality management and product stewardship, and ensuring operational standards are met by third‑party logistics providers (3PLs).
The role also has accountability for HESQ, including regulatory compliance, company‑wide safety management for both back‑office and market teams, and ensuring that all operations meet customer expectations while achieving relevant business and performance targets.
Role responsibilities include:
• Overall management of Yara Australia’s Crop Nutrition Operations - including setting of the strategy, driving execution
• Driving implementation of standardized processes and continuous improvement (Create, audit, and manage
database of supplier, transporter, and freight forwarder)
• People Management responsibility for the team to include performance management and recruitment
• Approvals and administrative tasks as required in ERP
• Account management of the warehouse accounts (In charge of optimization of national stock levels and product
transfer to regional warehouses)
• Planning of product requirements in collaboration with the Commercial Manager
• Provide backup support to the team.
• Training safety & operation standard to 3PL (include bagging, storing, delivering, quality control, packaging
management)
• Project ref to Packaging: optimize packaging specs aligned with regional & other YAA units &/or local regulations
Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
- Minimum 5 year experience in similar role
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills
- Self-starter, proactive, strong work ethic
- Knowledge of ISO Accreditation Standards and IFA Protect and Sustain Certification.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements (e.g. HESQ)
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Attention to detail, high level of commitment
- Fluent English is essential
- Australian or New Zealand full work rights
