About the Unit
The Corporate Affairs unit reports to the SVP Corporate Affairs, Communication and Brand department in the People and External Affairs department and ensures a global vision and holistic approach for the company on government relations.
Yara Corporate Affairs serves as an important advisor to the CEO and senior management on government relations, policy trends, regulatory processes and engagement with non-governmental organizations. The unit develops and aligns company positions and recommendations towards governments on overarching policy themes such as climate & sustainability policy and on sector-specific regulations. The unit builds and maintains relations with policy makers, both directly and via associations or alliances. It works in close collaboration with the other corporate functions and business areas to leverage the full breadth of internal expertise.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing the EU public affairs team in Brussels (2 direct reports)
- Co-developing Yara’s positioning and advocacy strategy towards the EU Institutions:
- Prioritize policy arenas based on business impact & ability to influence
- Select advocacy channels and tactics
- Increase relevance of Yara for external stakeholders"
- Developing and coordinating Yara policy papers on EU regulations and implementation in Member States, with a focus on policies related to climate, industrial emissions, production, energy and Single Market:
- Analyze new regulatory or legislative developments
- Share insights with and seek input from Yara experts and business leaders
- Coordinate the internal approval processes"
- Implementing an integrated public affairs (advocacy) and public relations (external comms and events) effort to advocate for regulations aligned with Yara’s Mission & Vision and based on approved Yara policy positions.
- Representing Yara International towards EU stakeholders, together with the VP Corporate Affairs, the team members or other relevant colleagues.
- Ensure synergies with the government relations work of colleagues in member states and Bus
- Inform senior management together with the VP Corporate Affairs
Profile
- Bachelor or Master degree in Relevant field
- 5-10 years of relevant work experience
- Proven track record in stakeholder engagement and event management in EU context
- Independent, proactive, startegic and positive can do attitude
- Experience in people management and strong collaboration skills
