Manager, Logistics & Sourcing - Continental Ammonia Flow

Purpose

 

The Logistics & Sourcing Manager – Continental Ammonia Flow is a strategic leadership role within Infrastructure Europe, responsible for securing and coordinating the end-to-end ammonia supply flow for Tertre across Continental Europe. The role acts as the central point of accountability for day-to-day logistics coordination, sourcing activities, disruption management, and operational planning related to ammonia supply.

This position ensures fast decision-making, operational continuity, rail logistics coordination, and alignment between supplying sites, terminals, rail operators, procurement, planning, and commercial stakeholders. Due to the strategic and hazardous nature of ammonia logistics, the role is critical for maintaining production continuity, minimizing operational risks, and ensuring rapid response during supply disruptions.

The position also serves as a key interface between Infrastructure Europe and YCA/ASL organizations regarding sourcing strategy, market intelligence, commercial alignment, and future growth opportunities across the European ammonia market.

Responsibilities

 

End-to-End Ammonia Flow Coordination
  • Own and coordinate the end-to-end ammonia supply flow for Tertre across Continental Europe.
  • Act as the single point of accountability for day-to-day logistics planning and operational coordination.
  • Ensure clear ownership and rapid decision-making across normal operations and disruption scenarios.
  • Coordinate activities between Tertre, supplying sites, terminals, rail operators, and logistics partners.
 
Rail Logistics & Operational Leadership
  • Jointly driveoperational coordination of rail-based ammonia logistics flows with the Rail procurement manager :
  • Ensure continuity, reliability, and optimization of rail supply operations.
  • Maintain close integration with local site operations to understand production impacts and operational priorities.
  • Drive fast issue identification, escalation management, and implementation of corrective actions.
 
Sourcing & Procurement Leadership
  •  Lead ammonia sourcing activities related to Tertre operations.
  • Manage offtake agreements, contract negotiations, and supplier relationships.
  • Coordinate spot sourcing activities during disruptions or emergency situations.
  • Ensure alignment between operational requirements, sourcing strategy, and commercial considerations.
 
Disruption & Crisis Management
  • Lead coordination during supply disruptions, logistics incidents, or operational crises.
  • Ensure short communication and decision-making pathways during critical situations.
  • Assess operational impacts, evaluate sourcing alternatives, and coordinate mitigation plans.
  • Safeguard business continuity and minimize production risks for Tertre operations.
 
Strategic Planning & Business Integration
  •  Contribute to business planning activities for Tertre ammonia supply.
  • Coordinate inputs from Operations, GPO, YCA, and Infrastructure Europe stakeholders.
  • Provide weekly operational and sourcing inputs to relevant governance teams.
  • Support long-term resilience and optimization of the ammonia logistics network.
 
Market Intelligence & Commercial Interface
  • Maintain active collaboration with YCA/ASL regarding pricing support, ammonia market developments, and sourcing strategy.
  • Provide operational and infrastructure insights supporting commercial and sourcing decisions.
  • Monitor logistics market developments, rail capacity constraints, and supply risks across Europe.
  • Support evaluation of future growth opportunities in the domestic European ammonia market.
 
Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Act as the key interface between Infrastructure Europe, Tertre, YCA/ASL, GPO, terminals, rail operators, and supplying sites.
  • Influence cross-functional decision-making through operational expertise and market understanding.
  • Ensure alignment between logistics, sourcing, commercial, and operational priorities.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and operational excellence.

 

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics, Procurement, or related field
  • Significant experience in industrial logistics, sourcing, operations, or supply chain management
  • Experience in rail logistics, chemicals, ammonia, or hazardous materials is strongly preferred
  • International and cross-functional experience preferred
  • Fluent English required
