Product Stewardship and Compliance Expert

About the Unit

Corporate HESQ has an overall governance function for HESQ in Yara. It provides guidance and support to all operational units in Yara through a network of HESQ contacts. 
A wide range of activities is covered related to health, environment, security, occupational and process safety, product stewardship, chemical compliance (REACH, CLP and GHS), certification, HSE auditing  and product and emergency response and crisis management.


We are currently looking for a Product Stewardship and Compliance Expert, within the Product Stewardship and Compliance unit. Specifically, the Product Stewardship and Compliance Expert will work within the area of Chemical Compliance and report to Rune Bratteberg, unit head.
 

Responsibilities

•    Manage registration and notification of chemical substances in Yara products
•    Provide expertise in regulatory framework like REACh, GHS/CLP, FPR (Fertilizer Product Regulation)
•    Develop and improve work processes for data management, labelling and FPR
•    Support Yara BUs HESQ and product management with regulatory advice
•    Evaluate toxicological and ecotoxicological data
•    Evaluate, assign and describe use of products in relation to REACH requirements
•    Contribute to chemical safety assessment for products, substances and product groups
•    Contribute to continuous improvement of way of working:

  •     Focus on automation of work processes
  •     Explore and utilize functionalities and opportunities with IT-tools
  •     Actively share knowledge and provide training

Profile

•    PhD. in chemistry or other relevant disciplines and/or extensive experience with regulatory work within chemical industry or from public sector.
•    Minimum 5 years’ experience preferably in or with, chemical industry and/or authorities, Regulatory/REACH and HESQ.
•    Structured and systematic way of working with an analytical and curious mindset.
•    Able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, multicultural environment with many different levels of expertise. 
•    Collaborative and communicative attitude.
•    Ability to work efficiently on individual basis as well and enjoy being a team player 
•    Fluency in English is a requirement. Other languages is an advantage.
