Sourcing Manager Material Handling and MRO

About the Unit

As a Sourcing Manager Material Handling and MRO you’ll be part of the YGP Global Optimization and Procurement Business Unit, part Indirect Procurement.  

You’ll be taking on an active role in an exciting journey to shape and turn Yara into a category management leader in our business and beyond. As member of the Technical Services and Equipment, Maintenance Services and MRO team you’ll contribute to the Yara Strategy as well as LEAP and E.nable.  You’ll be creating added business value while working together in cross functional teams with internal and external stakeholders based on a strong corporate mandate.

The position reports to the Category Manager Material Handling and MRO and is preferably located in either Brussels or Oslo.

Responsibilities

Work cross functional with the Category Managers and internal as well as external stakeholders in the domain of Material Handling and MRO.  Lead value creation initiatives to deliver benefits for the business, contribute in building category understanding, in defining the category strategy and the tactical sourcing procedure, in developing category plans and in developing collaborative procurement plans.

  • Work cross-functionally with stakeholders to manage and lead a selection of value creation Initiatives to deliver business benefits, 
  • Be a project manager for a selection of value creation Initiatives, including amongst others bi-weekly project management reviews on progress, risk, etc
  • Organize the implementation and roll out of the outcomes of a selection of Initiatives
  • Serve as a first point of contact within central procurement for and maintain a selection of frame agreements, key suppliers and centrally determined sourcing strategies.
  • Support the category managers by determining opportunities for the development and execution of the Material Handling and MRO category strategies.
  • Make use of best in class sourcing strategies to deliver on Yara’s needs by leveraging data market insights, data analytics and internal knowledge
  • Conduct monthly category management reviews and define mitigation actions in case of deviations from KPI targets.
  • Lead cross functional efforts to develop and implement supply base optimization and rationalization, quality improvements, risk assessments, and frame agreement negotiations
  • Manage, maintain and develop the business relations with main suppliers and internal stakeholders.  
  • Engage with suppliers and internal stakeholders to develop and manage improvement programs to continuous develop and improve supplier performance, by the establishment and achievement of cost reduction and optimum risk balance with optimal quality.  
  • Manage supplier relationship, including ongoing contract management and control, collation of performance data (through overseeing supplier performance data collection and analysis), and supply market knowledge capturing.
  • Create an environment that fosters team work, collaboration, openness and acceptance to challenging the status quo.
     

Profile

  • Master degree preferably in Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering or other relevant disciplines
  • 3+ years of strategic and/or tactical procurement, sourcing management 
  • Commercial mindset with influencing, negotiating and contracting skills
  • Bridge-builder with a ‘yes, we can’-attitude
  • Familiarity with TCO (= Total Cost of Ownership) and LCC (= Life Cycle Cost) implementation with understanding of cost drivers
  • Ability to execute market research, business analysis and benefit tracking
  • Ability to influence, lead and coach cross-functional teams 
  • Ability to work independently
  • Analytical thinking, strategic problem solving capabilities and result oriented mindset
  • Experience dealing across geographies
  • High integrity and ethical standards
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Excellent communication skills
     

Additional Information

  • Thorough understanding of the vendor landscape related to Material Handling and MRO
  • Good familiarity with commercial contract law, lean and operational excellence.
