Carman Terminal Manager

About the Unit

The Yara Carman Warehouse facility is located in Carman, MB and provides truck distribution of Yara fertilizers to local markets.

 

Responsibilities

This position will provide strategic oversight for the Yara Carman, MB agricultural fertilizer storage and distribution facility. In this role, you will ensure the facility meets safety, quality, operational efficiency, and financial performance standards.

  • Provide work direction, training, development & coaching of terminal operators.
  • Coordinate operations to achieve day-to-day loading capacity, Health, Environment, Safety and Quality (HESQ) Standards, and maintenance goals of the terminal. 
  • Ensure employee performance management processes are followed.
  • Responsible to ensure incidents are communicated through the Synergi incident reporting structure.
  • Accountable for inputting maintenance activities into computerized Maintenance Management System (CheckProof) on a day-to-day and long-term basis.  
  • Organize and oversee contractor work and ensure safe work practices, work quality, and evaluate job/work performance. 
  • Responsible to ensure product quality meets defined product specifications when leaving site while following customer order and inventory control procedures. 
  • Assist marketing in resolving customer complaints on product quality issues. 
  • Coordinate Maintenance & Inspection of Yara Industrial Rail to ensure regulatory standards are maintained. 
  • Participate/lead continuous improvement initiatives including RCPS, workplace organization and PM Planning and Scheduling. 
  • Develop an understanding of SAP and product loading systems

Education, Experience & Skill

  • Minimum Grade 12 

  • Command of safety program and emergency response responsibilities 

  • Several years of bulk fertilizer dry product loading experience. 

  • Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills. 

  • Sound knowledge of loadout facilities including weigh scale operation, conveyors, Power Mobile Equipment (PME) and control system operation. 

  • Valid First Aid, TDG, WHMIS certificates. 

  • Proficient in computer systems
