Foreign Trade Coordinator

We are looking for a highly skilled professional to support Foreign Trade Operations for Andean Region, with excellent interpersonal relationship and teamwork. Location: Cartagena - Colombia.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the execution of foreign trade activities related to import and export of raw materials, goods, equipment and spare parts for Colombia, according to either Sourcing or Procurement requirements, duly requested.
  • Ensure imports and exports shall comply with all most updated regulatory, legal and Yara ethics and compliance standards. There should be a focus on optimizing the process to achieve the lowest possible cost (shall be measured and reported), on time.
  • Manage orders for fertilizers in import, exports and local requirements, ensuring proper cost assignment and real time communications through end-to-end process.
  • Lead communications and negotiations with terminals for vessels operations, customs authorities, business associates, shipping lines and support logistics team in discharge strategies.
  • Demonstrate fully knowledge in Colombian customs requirements and legislation for decision support in imports and exports negotiations.
  • Support supply chain challenges by leading and executing business cases and simulations, using strong analysis and data.
  • Lead and execute initiatives for operational excellence, standardization and process improvement.
  • Coordinate the release of goods from the carrier, Customs or other governmental agency inspections that may be required.
  • Manage complaints from customers and tracking of action plans to solve cases. Adopt and participate in the improvements of customer service procedures.
  • Monitoring the performance of suppliers and business associates to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Manage fluent and formal communications for imports, exports, documents and invoicing with intercompany suppliers and clients (Oslo, Geneva, Colombia).
  • Follow up market intelligence information for fertilizers imports.

 

Profile

Education

Bachelor’s degree in industrial or production engineering, international business, finance or another relevant field.

 

Work Experience

4 years of relevant foreign trade, procurement and supply chain experience.

 

Knowledge and skills

  • Shipping business knowledge.
  • Local regulations knowledge for Colombia.
  • Fluent written and spoken English (C1 Level).
  • Multi tasking, whith the ability to priorize between different requirements.
  • SAP Modules: MM & PP.
  • Avance skills in MS Office/ Microsoft excel.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Orientation to process improvements.
  • Analytical skills: Identify and drive structural improvements in foreign trade based on cost and efficiency.
  • Relationships - Ability to build and maintain good relationships with leaders, coworkers, customers and suppliers.
  • Collaboration & orientation to service.
