About the Unit

BU Latin America sells approximately 2.0 million tons of fertilizer annually. Yara's history in Latin America dates back to 1979 and it has double the sales volumes after the OFD acquisition in 2014. The Business Unit Latin America office is located in Bogota, Colombia, and we currently have domestic presence in Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama and Peru, with about 1,100 employees.

We currently require a Record to Report Manager who is responsible  for the preparations of reports and explanatory notes for monthly and yearly consolidations and financial statements under GAAP and IFRS guidlelines , as well as for the review of  inter-comany accounting, accounts reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, general ledger posting and period close management; supporting all internal and external accounting information requirements. Also responsable to ensure compliance of the policies and procedures that drive to an exceptional customer service, operational excellence and compliance. Additionally, this position will have the responsibility of maintaining a healthy environment and an efficient operation among its team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Duties:

  • Manage the course of R2R operations and determine priorities and objectives while at the same time ensuring the delivery of the day-to-day operations  and service level compliance.  (E.g.,  Fixed Assets  disposals, capitalization and depreciation; Accruals, Write-downs and Provisions;  prepare MEC Plan, Uploading finalcial statements and monthly forms  in HFM, etc).
  • Provide completely efficient, reliable and timely accounting information.
  • Review the financials statements with a critical perspective and to challenge the results.
  • Maintain a strong relationship level with the business units, central accounting team and internal/external audit.
  • Associate with the Business Control Managers and Accounting  Leads in order to: a)Prepare and carry out the follow-up of Service Level Agreement (SLA) to ensure excellence in service delivery and b) Analyze subjects which are outlined by the Business Accounting Leads and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Guide and promote development, management and continuous improvement of the R2R process from end-to-end, pursuing operational excellence
  • Manage performances in his area of responsibility through key management indexes and support objectives focusing in the excellence of service center processes in order to detect infringements and implement corrective or preventive actions, whichever is the case.
  • Lead risk and control management, ensuring that R2R processes operate in the appropriate control environment according to ICFR guidelines and internal controls.

Profile

Education

Essential: Accounting, Finance and appraisal processes
Essential: Masters/Specialization in Finance/Accounting
Essential: IFRS Specialization or Diplomaed.  IFRS certification is desirable.

Essential: Deep knowledge in  IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) IFRS certification is desirable.
Essential:  Good understanding of GAAPs for LatAm countries
Essential: Government Regulations
Essential: State and Federal Laws about fiscal and accounting requirements and the necessary analytical tools to evaluate acquisition opportunities
Essential:  Shared Service Centers
Ideally: R2R processes and related processes
Ideally: Customer Service Support
Ideally: Quality (processes improvement)

Experience required:

Essential:  6+ years experience in finance and accounting.  IFRS, IFRS and HFM reporting.
Essential: 6+ years experience in Multinational and/or Finalcial Audit Companies

Essential:  6+ years in a monitoring role
Essential:  6+ years experience in finance and accounting
Essential:  experience in  SAP FI
Ideally:  Good understanding of the R2R processes
Ideally:  Work experience in the fertilizer industry
Ideally:  Experience in the Management of Change and Quality (process improvements)
Ideally:  Experience in leadership of multifunctional and international teams, as well as integration projects

Software knowledge:
Essential: Competence in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Essential: SAP FI knowledge

Linguistic knowledge:
Essential: English: Fluid written and spoken

Additional Information

Overtime and occasional work on the weekend / holidays might be necessary during busy periods or when necessary to fulfill business requirements at BULA operations.
