Business Controller (m/f/d)

The Global Innovation unit will support the transformation towards a nature positive food future and contribute to solving challenges the agricultural industry is facing.


The German subsidiary YARA GmbH & Co.KG, based in Dülmen, is responsible for sales of mineral fertilizers and industrial chemicals in German-speaking countries, the Netherlands and Belgium. In addition, the Hanninghof Institute for Plant Nutrition and Environmental Research, which coordinates the Group's global agricultural research, is located at the Dülmen site.


To support our Commercial and Finance Teams at Dülmen site, we are looking for a motivated Business Controller (m/f/d) for the region Germany/BeNeLux at out location in Dülmen/Germany; partly working from home is possible.



What you will be doing

  • Performance reporting (e.g. monthly management/KPI reporting for the German and BeNeLux reporting units) and support for the monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes
  • Prepare the quarterly performance review with the BU, including fixed costs analysis compared to previous year and/or business plan
  • Support performance measurement and strategic initiatives/projects as defined for the segment
  • Lead a small team
  • Provide value-added analysis and reports to support local management decisions and improve performance in the region
  • Ad hoc analysis and reports mainly based on SAP, HANA/Power-BI, HFM SmartView and Microsoft Excel/Pivot
  • Improving financial processes and supporting the digitalization
  • Creation of business plan and analysis of BP deviations including fixed costs
  • Follow up of fix costs and CAPEX with local management and finance
  • Coordinate ICFR controls


  • Monthly follow ups & monitoring tasks of freight and handling costs in coordination with terminal operations and transportation management teams
  • Supporting the monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes
  • Working closely with the local finance team and provide necessary inputs for financial processes
  • Monitor pricing of the Sales department and coordinate the process for customer rebates and other finance related topics



What you will bring

  • You have completed a bachelor's or master's degree with a focus on controlling and finance
  • You have relevant professional experience in the area of controlling, finance or similar in an international company is preferred
  • Knowledge of IFRS and statutory accounting requirements is a plus
  • You have advanced experience with SAP R/3 and data analysis / business intelligence tools (e.g. HANA/Power-BI/Excel Add-In)
  • You have very good analytical skills, abstract thinking skills and an independent, goal-oriented and conscientious way of working
  • You are willing to learn and connect to various parts of the company
  • You have a hands-on mentality and collaborative mindset
  • You are a team player, good at communication and service-oriented with a commercial mindset
  • You have advanced MS Office knowledge; especially Excel/Pivot
  • You have excellent English language skills
