About the Unit
Yara Animal Nutrition's operations in South Africa include a raw materials processing plant as well as sales distribution across the country, selling mineral feed supplements to feed producers and farmers across Southern Africa and selected international markets. Globally, Yara was Founded in 1905 to solve the emerging famine in Europe, Yara has a worldwide presence with about 17,000 employees and operations in over 60 countries.
Responsibilities
The Technical Advisors key deliverables will be the sales and marketing of Yara Animal Nutrition’s products. The advisor will be covering Limpopo as primary area of responsibility.
- Maintain and further develop the local customer base and to ensure our position as the preferred supplier of feed phosphates, feed grade urea, and associated animal nutrition products.
- Visits to existing, new clients and to secure long-term partnerships for both the company and the clients.
- Customer visits to build relationships and promote Yara products (this include visits to farmers, feedlots, co-op branches and head office, mixing plants etc.)
- Participation and relationship building with buying and study groups, attending agriculture shows, farmer’s days and auctions
- Constantly monitor the changing conditions in the markets and to devise and implement strategies both long and short term to ensure sales targets of volumes, margins and expenses are achieved.
- Assist customers with technical information and recommendations in conjunction with nutritionist.
- Checking of customer orders and completing of sales quotations and following up on order process.
- Ensure that all customer queries and claims are efficiently and effectively.
- Compile the annual, monthly sales and expense budget for the area and to implement and monitor and control that these budgets are adhered to.
Profile
Tertiary qualification in Agriculture preferred.
At least 5 years sales experience within related industry.
Must have background in animal nutrition, feed nutrition, feed milling, farming.
Bi-lingual (English and Afrikaans) preferable.
It is a condition of employment to reside within Limpopo province as advisor for this region.
