HESQ Manager (m/w/d) - english version

 

The Brunsbüttel site has two production units, an ammonia plant and an urea plant. An air separation unit in the ammonia synthesis plant delivers the air gases nitrogen, oxygen and argon used for various technical and industrial purposes. Several grades of ammonia and urea are produced with specifications tailored to meet market needs. Technical aqueous solutions like AdBlue/Air 1 and NOxCare for reduction of NOx from trucks and power plants is delivered to the international market.

 

We are looking for a HESQ manager (m/f/d) at our production site in Brunsbüttel. At Yara, Safety is key and our Safe by Choice journey is affecting everything we do. You will report to the Plant manager and will be a member of the management-team in Brunsbüttel.

Responsibilities

 

  • Implementation and compliance with YARA HESQ standards & systems, including ISO and other certification standards
  • Develop and manage local safety plans and projects in line with YARA’s safety culture
  • Analysis of safety incidents, work accidents and near misses as well as recording and evaluating test results to derive necessary measures 
  • Execute and support internal and external audits
  • Ensure any necessary monitoring and reporting to management and local authorities
  • Lead the HESQ-Team (including environment, occupational and plant safety) and the laboratory

Profile

 

  • Degree (at least BSc/ MSc) in chemistry, environment, or equivalent qualification
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in the HESQ area, preferably in the chemical industry
  • Qualified auditor for different standards
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of the relevant laws, regulations and standards
  • Experience in ISO certification process
  • Team worker with ability to work independently
  • Fluent in German and English
