Yara’s New Zealand team is actively seeking an experienced Sales Agronomist to further grow our nutrition business in the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Auckland and Northland regions. Ideally you will be based in the BOP or Auckland and have experience across a range of horticultural crops.
Responsibilities
Looking for an exciting new challenge? Yara are seeking applications for their permanent role of Sales Agronomist. Reporting to the Country Manager, the Sales Agronomist is responsible for implementing the strategy to achieve and exceed targets; supporting marketing and promotional activities; and supporting the commercial offer development.
The primary responsibilities include:
• Service the allocated sales territory which may change according to market conditions
• Develop and successfully sell Yara’s product portfolio in the region based upon an understanding of financial expectations of the sales budget in key defined crops
• Apply agronomic, commercial and marketing knowledge and skills towards farmers, growers, resellers and key stakeholders within key crop segments
• Build relationships with internal and external customers and pursue new opportunities in the identified crop segments
• Provide supporting trials, crop demonstrations and sales promotional activities and transform them into value selling propositions
• Manage the responsibilities in accordance with Product Stewardship and Ethics & Compliance requirements
• Update Customer Relationship Management tool, forecasting and reporting market intelligence in a timely manner

Profile
• Proven experience within agronomic and/or commercial fields
• Deep understanding of agriculture business, specifically plant nutrition and fertilisers
• Experience in the Kiwifruit and Avocado industry would be an advantage
• Strong commercial mindset, enthusiastic and reliable
• Team player, self-motivated, adaptable and committed to the job
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written
• Proven planning and organization skills
• Fluent written and verbal English is essential
• Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency. Temporary work visa holders are not eligible for this role.
