The Yara Pilbara Fertilisers' plant is one of the largest ammonia production sites in the world and we have also taken the ammonia process further downstream with the Yara Pilbara Nitrates Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) plant, a joint venture with Orica. Together with ENGIE, Yara Pilbara are also building a renewable hydrogen plant to produce renewable ammonia.

Yara are seeking applications for their permanent role of Electrical & Instrumentation Technician.
Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, the EI Technician is responsible for ensuring the achievement of defined maintenance quality standards and meeting planned maintenance and operational requirements, whilst ensuring that all Health, Safety and Environmental System Policies and Standards are adhered to.
The primary responsibilities include:
- Carry out corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Diagnose and repair complex equipment faults and breakdowns.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and update job status, hours, and technical findings in SAP/CMMS.
- Monitor work progress against plans and report any deviations to the Maintenance Supervisor/Planner.
- Perform commissioning checks in line with guidelines and with the asset owner when required.
- Identify and report recurring failures or downtime trends.
- Support shutdown and turnaround maintenance activities.

Profile
- WA-recognised Electrical trade qualification and eligibility for an Electrical Licence
- Certificate IV in Instrumentation (or equivalent)
- EEHA competencies and High Voltage switching training
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in petrochemical, gas processing, oil refining or similar heavy industry
- Working knowledge of SAP and basic proficiency in the MS Office suite
- Good understanding of relevant industry standards, regulations, and environmental practices
- Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency. Temporary work visa holders are not eligible for this role.
