About the Unit
The Yara Pilbara Fertilisers' plant is one of the largest ammonia production sites in the world and we have also taken the ammonia process further downstream with the Yara Pilbara Nitrates Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) plant, a joint venture with Orica. Together with ENGIE, Yara Pilbara will also build a renewable hydrogen plant to produce renewable ammonia.

Responsibilities

Yara are seeking expressions of interest for future opportunities at their Karratha site, for both the ammonia and Technical Ammonium Nitrate plants.
Process Operator roles report to the Shift Superintendent, and operate under a shift arrangement of 2 days, 2 nights and 4 off.
The Process Operator:
· Monitors and operates Plant Systems and Equipment under various plant conditions and in various areas of the Plant;
· Performs basic, routine, abnormal and advanced operations in plant areas in accordance with company policy and within Standard Operating Conditions and Limits (SOCL) to maintain a consistent standard of safety, productivity and reliability;
· Executes start up and shutdown of plant and equipment;
· Report any faults or deviations and initiate notifications for plant maintenance work in accordance with plant productivity;
· Prepares plant equipment for maintenance repairs and returns to service in a safe and efficient manner as per Work Instruction;
· Maintains logs and records for all areas of the plant in an accurate and responsible manner in order to identify process deviations and have records available for future reference and troubleshooting;
· Comply with PTW procedure and Lock Out / Tag Out procedure to ensure requirements are met for maintenance of plant systems and equipment;
· Participates in reviewing the check list, SOPs etc.;
· Complies with Work Instructions and Standard Operating Conditions and Limits (SOCLs) manual;
· Adheres to Permit to Work (PTW) procedure, Confined Space Entry procedures, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Sketches and Pressure Relief Devices (PRDs) and provides feedback on improvements.
· Monitors and reports on maintenance progress in order to maintain plant and equipment in a safe and reliable condition;
· Complies with Operator routines including the laboratory sampling/analysis;
· Takes timely, accurate readings, taking corrective action when necessary and otherwise communicating equipment problems to appropriate person promptly;
· Makes accurate, timely entries in maintenance management system SAP;
· Complies with Work Instructions and Standard Operating Conditions and Limits (SOCLs) manual;
· Demonstrates knowledge of Permit to Work (PTW) procedure, Confined Space Entry procedures, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Sketches and Pressure Relief Devices (PRDs).
· Report any near misses, accidents and breaches directly to the shift superintendent, and raise a report in Synergi.

Profile
• A Process Plant Operator Certificate, a Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years experience within a position in the Chemical/petrochemical industry;
• Understanding of the Supply Chain process;
• Advanced Team Member participation with a focus of team within a team environment;
• Competent usage of Excel Spreadsheets, Word Outlook and other M/S modules.
• Experience in oil and gas, chemical processing or Mining and Manufacturing processes;
• Fluent English (verbal and written) is essential.
• Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
