The Yara Pilbara Fertilisers' plant is one of the largest ammonia production sites in the world and we have also taken the ammonia process further downstream with the Yara Pilbara Nitrates Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) plant, a joint venture with Orica. Together with ENGIE, Yara Pilbara will also build a renewable hydrogen plant to produce renewable ammonia.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Maintenance Coordinator to join our Front-Line Maintenance team.
In this leadership role, you will coordinate and oversee all E&I maintenance activities on site, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with legislative and statutory requirements.
You will lead, coach, and develop a team of dual trade technicians while driving a strong safety culture and continuous improvement across operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of dual trade E&I Technicians (and subcontractors where applicable) across all site maintenance activities.
As a leader within Yara, demonstrating our Leadership Behaviours ”(Live the Strategy, Be the Change, Explore and Adapt, Build Trust”) will be essential to your role and ongoing development. - Coordinate daily maintenance execution, priorities, and resource allocation
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with site procedures and legislation
- Review and approve risk assessments (JSEA) and enforce compliance in the field
- Drive strong safety behaviours, including participation in inspections and WOC programs
- Manage team performance, development, rostering, and call-out coverage
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and coaching to technicians and apprentices
- Collaborate with maintenance engineers and vendors to resolve complex issues
- Oversee maintenance administration including requisitions, invoicing, and cost control
- Monitor and manage budget expenditure
- Lead toolbox talks, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure high-quality maintenance standards and reliability of plant equipment
- Support incident investigations, hazard analysis (SJA/HAZOP), and reporting
- Act as a change agent supporting productivity and operational improvement systems
- Develop, plan, coordinate and execute small E&I projects from design through to completion, ensuring scope, cost, schedule and quality objectives are met.
About you
- Strong leadership experience supervising maintenance teams
- Extensive technical expertise in E&I within petrochemical, gas, or similar heavy industry
- Proven commitment to safety in major hazard facilities
- Ability to prioritise, plan, and manage multiple activities effectively
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience with SAP and MS Office (advantageous)
Requirements
- Trade qualification (Cert III/IV or Diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation or related field)
- Minimum 10 years’ industry experience (petrochemical, gas processing, or oil refining)
- Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Ability to meet site compliance requirements (including PTW, fatigue management, and D&A policies)
