About Yara Pilbara

The Yara Pilbara Fertilisers' plant is one of the largest ammonia production sites in the world and we have also taken the ammonia process further downstream with the Yara Pilbara Nitrates Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) plant, a joint venture with Orica. Together with ENGIE, Yara Pilbara will also build a renewable hydrogen plant to produce renewable ammonia.

Yara are seeking applications for their permanent role of Maintenance Planner (Mechanical).

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent , the Maintenance Planner (Mechanical) plans and schedules the corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance for the mechanical maintenance areas as allocated by the maintenance manager, and ensures the realisation of the goals for the specific discipline by planning and organising all activities related to maintenance and MOC’s within the maintenance department.

The primary responsibilities include:
•    Compliance to safe by choice
•    Close interaction with maintenance coordinator and production coordinators for effective manpower & resources allocation 
•    Analyzing job scope and Job preparation
•    Attending all relevant meetings 
•    Check availability and suitability of material in stock for the job in hand. Issue material against correct work orders from the warehouse.
•    Effective and efficient utilisation of all available mechanical maintenance technicians
•    Allocation of time spent on job 
•    Plan and arrange external resources as required
•    Interaction with other departments and functions – Maintenance Coordinator, Technicians, Maintenance Manager, Reliability Engineers, Production Coordinators, Contractor Supervisors 
•    Ensures the realisation of the goals for the specific discipline by planning and organising all activities related to maintenance and MOC’s within the maintenance department.
•    Quality assures the framework of laws and regulations, organisational policies and performance criteria that corresponds to the quality of products, customer relations, (process) safety, environment (stakeholders), labour relations, manufacturing costs and budgets.
•    Cooperates with maintenance coordinators, specialists/ reliability engineers for complex problems
•    Is a safety leader and contribute to ensure implementation of safe work practices by maintenance team and contractors. 
•    Assist in preparation of maintenance KPI reports.
•    Contribute to implementation of safe work practices by own team of employees and contractors. 
•    Work closely with Production coordinators for preparing 2 week maintenance schedule 
•    Perform functions of maintenance technician if required during emergencies if qualified to do so.
•    The planner must have the right attitude and ability to work in a systematic and composed way during normal operations, turnarounds and in situations where priorities change due emergencies or to meet business needs.  Shall be able to coordinate and follow up progress to ensure work progresses as planned, involving all stakeholders and participation of various disciplines / work groups as applicable.

Profile

•    TAFE/ CERT III or IV equivalent or Diploma, training in mechanical engineering at level 4 and a wide experience within the working area. 
•    Previous experience as a planner
•    Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar industry (Petrochemical, Gas Processing or Oil Refining); 
•    Strong SAP skills are required and Intermediate/Advanced MS Office suite experience. 
•    Understanding of relevant industry statutory standards and regulations. Familiar with industry environmental standards and practices.
•    Must be fluent in English, written and oral
•    Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency. Temporary work visa holders are not eligible for this role.
