About the Unit
The Yara Pilbara Fertilisers' plant is one of the largest single train ammonia production sites in the world and we have also taken the ammonia process further downstream with the Yara Pilbara Nitrates to produce Nitric Acid, and Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) plant, a joint venture with Orica. Together with ENGIE, Yara Pilbara are also building a renewable hydrogen plant to produce renewable ammonia.
This role is based in our Perth CBD office.
Responsibilities
Looking for an exciting new challenge? Yara are seeking applications for their permanent role of Process Engineer, Sustainability.
Reporting to the Environment & Sustainability Department’s Senior Process Engineer, the Process Engineer, Sustainability is responsible for using process engineering techniques and knowledge to achieve the company’s safety, quality and compliance goals and objectives.
The primary responsibilities include:
- Understanding of Yara’s goal for decarbonization and nature positivity and following the pathway, including initiation of and active participation in the implementation of greenhouse gas (GHG) and non-GHG projects.
- Process studies for 0.5%, 10% and 20% renewable hydrogen project.
- Commissioning support for 0.5% renewable hydrogen plant.
- Process support for CCUS studies, engineering and other projects, as required.
- ISO-50001 Energy Management system monitoring and reporting.
- Working with a dynamic team of individuals to ensure compliance with various government and corporate reporting initiatives.
- Process support and collaboration with all departments.
- Participating in plant testing and commissioning activities where process engineering experience is requested.
- Participation in Risk Assessment and PHA studies, participate as Subject Matter Expert [SG1]
- Contribute to Yara globally for engineering knowledge sharing and review of technical and operating standards (TOPS)
- Proven experience in equipment sizing.
- Actively participate in compliance and management system audits as required.
- Conduct design reviews as required and participate in workshops.
- Ability to carryout Aspen Plus / HYSYS simulations.
- Develop P&IDs, and update PFD as required
- Risk assessment authority for MoC
- Conduct and participates in Root Cause Analysis, incident HAZOPs and reviews
Profile
- Bachelor’s/Masters with any engineering discipline (Chemical Engineering is pre-ferred). Full member of the Institute of Engineers, Australia.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with knowledge of ammonia, nitric acid and ammonia plant is advantageous
- Strong SAP skills, Advanced MS office suite experience, Knowledge of Aspen Plus software
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
- Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency. Temporary work visa holders are not eligible for this role.
