Technical Services Process Engineer (12 Month Fixed Term)

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Technical Services Process Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term residential role in Karratha, Western Australia.

The role involves using process engineering knowledge, technical expertise and experience to achieve the company’s safety reliability and strategic goals and objectives.

 

Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include:
•    Working with the technical and business development team to provide process engineering support to the Senior Process Engineers, Reliability Engineers and Inspection team. 
•    Working for our two plants (20% allocation towards our ammonium nitrate plant [YPN] and 80% allocation towards our ammonia plant [YPF]). 
•    Assisting the Production team with analyzing  production issues, and providing technical advice for optimizing plant performance, emissions and energy efficiency. 
•    Leading plant testing and commissioning activities where process engineering expertise is required.
•    Contribute to Yara globally for engineering knowledge sharing and review of technical and operating standards (TOPS) 
•    Build relations with technical personnel within Yara Pilbara, other sites and technical work within Yara International 
•    Leading external reporting of pollutants for the NPI reporting and Energy and Emissions reporting, NGER reports to the Clean Energy Regulator.

Profile

•    Bachelor of Science (BSc.), Bachelor of Engineering (BEng.)  Degree in Chemical Engineering, with Masters/Honours or equivalent
•    Full Member of the Institute of Engineers, Australia (MIAust) or other recognized engineering professional membership will be considered an asset
•    Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar industry (Petrochemical, Gas Processing or Oil Refining)
•    Knowledge in ammonia plant/Nitric Acid/AN Plant operations and using plant design and simulation software
•    Strong SAP skills are a distinct advantage
•    Intermediate/Advanced MS Office suite experience
•    Process design and simulation software ASPEN plus 
•    Valid driver’s license
•    Must be fluent in written and verbal English
