Turnaround Senior Static Engineer

About the Unit

The Yara Pilbara Fertilisers' plant is one of the largest ammonia production sites in the world and we have also taken the ammonia process further downstream with the Yara Pilbara Nitrates Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) plant, a joint venture with Orica. Together with ENGIE, Yara Pilbara will also build a renewable hydrogen plant to produce renewable ammonia.

This role can be based in Karratha or Perth. Perth based roles will require travel to site.

Responsibilities

Looking for an exciting new challenge? Yara are seeking applications for their permanent role of Senior Engineer (Static Equipment) in the Turnaround team. Reporting to the Turnaround Manager, the Senior Engineer is responsible for engineering, planning, scheduling, execution and closeout of works associated with all Static Equipment, following Yara Turnaround work processes supported by AP Networks “Navitrack” tool.

 

The Senior Engineer will:
•    Understand Engineering and Statutory requirements for a Major Hazard Fa-cility Process (Chemical) Plant.
•    Develop TA Goals & Objectives with the team across both sites following the Yara TOPS 2.09 work process (Navitrack – tool) and adherence to achieve the targets.
•    Develop, publish & maintain the Long-Range Plans for Static equipment across both facilities. It should include the Future reliabilities strategies in the plan.
•    Scope definition & scope freeze to be done for static equipment with the pro-duction coordinator.
•    Conduct “what if” scenarios to identify possible high-risk discoveries and plan mitigating actions
•    Carry out technical reviews of all plant modification works as per applicable codes and Yara MOC (Management of Change) process.
•    Review & Prepare method statements for identified major Turnaround activi-ties and conduct constructability reviews.
•     Lead and contribute to Hazop & SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations) re-views.
•    Responsible for ensuring that Yara HSE procedures, codes, regulations, Quality Assurance & contractual requirements have been built & met at the planning & execution stage of the jobs.
•    Participate in real-time troubleshooting and analysis during TA execution.
•    Drive and maintain continuous improvements in the engineering standards, specifications & opportunities for cost optimisation.
•    Develop management reports and presentations as required for TA updates.
•    Responsible for assigned capital projects as Project Manager.
•    Review and approve contractor documentation such as Fabrication draw-ings, Engineering calculations, data sheets, piping isometrics, ITP, safety plans and quality assurance manuals.
•    Understand & ensure compliance with the Yara Steering system as relevant for the job by adherence to Yara Standards, TOPS & HOPS, etc.
•    Assist in development & finalization of Contracting Strategy
•    Verify contractor achievement, deliverables and milestones against the agreed scope. Verify invoices accordingly.

Profile

Required:

  • Minimum ten years of experience in a similar industry (Petrochemical, Gas Processing or Oil Refining);
  • Minimum two years of demonstrated supervisory experience
  • Understanding of Engineering and statutory requirements for a processing and or Chemical Plant
  • Knowledge of maintenance & shutdown management concepts and workflows
  • Contractors & contract management
  • Experience in operating full life cycle Turnarounds
