Brand & Marketing Specialist

Profile

Yara Fertilizer Zambia Limited is looking to fill the permanent position of a Brand & Marketing Specialist to implement marketing and branding activities within Zambia. It requires a hands-on person who can coordinate with multiple suppliers to ensure that deadlines and quality are adhered to as well as managing brand and marketing inventory.

  • Reporting to: General Manager - Zambia Cluster

Role and Responsibilities

  • Drive implementation of agreed marketing plans.
  • Maintain and publish marketing content according to crop calendars.
  • Plan and implement new product launches & campaigns of existing products across customer-facing departments.
  • Maintain Yara’s correct brand identity and representation internally and externally.
  • Plan, structure and implement a library of all marketing activities for ease of reference.
  • Coordinate agency support and retain a close relationship while remaining the point of contact for and management of suppliers.
  • Plan and oversee in-house as well as external events logistics; organise resources, attend events, supervise set-up, and be the brand point of contact during events and exhibition.
  • Track marketing campaigns to evaluate results and provide recommendations for future marketing activities.
  • Champion social media campaigns in line with overall Yara strategy & suggest monthly content calendar.
  • Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing objectives. Ensures consistency in all outbound communications & brand messaging.
  • Monitor and report on effectiveness of marketing communications.
  • Responsible for tracking and managing department budget.
  • Coordinates consistent messaging across all departments for product notifications, launches and product promotions.
  • Required to travel locally/regionally to support business requirement (must have a driver’s license with 2-3 years driving experience in manual transmission).

Functional Knowledge

  • Fluent written and spoken English; understanding of local languages is an added advantage.
  • High local cultural awareness, adaptability and flexibility.
  • Conversant with Microsoft Office applications.

Competencies

  • Ability to travel extensively, particularly local travel to support business requirements.
  • Hands-on coordination of events and suppliers is required.

  • Requires practical knowledge of marketing and branding implementation in Zambia, crop-calendar content, product launches, campaigns, social media, brand standards, supplier/agency coordination, event logistics and department budget tracking.
  • Contributing to financial goals by supporting predetermined sales objectives and targets and self-leadership in attainment of Key Performance Indicators measured via Contribution, Impact and Behaviour indicators
  • Coordination of multiple suppliers to ensure deadlines and quality are adhered to, manages marketing inventory, tracks campaign results, and provides recommendations for future marketing activities. Requires accuracy, attention to detail and hands-on judgement.

Qualifications, Experience and Requirements

  • University degree or diploma in Marketing or related field is a requirement.
  • A post graduate degree is an added advantage
  • Minimum 2-3 years of work experience within a Marketing function
  • Additional exposure in market research and analysis as well as events coordination
  • Requires a valid driver’s license with 2-3 years driving experience in manual transmission
