Field Agronomist and Biostimulants Specialist (Paternity Leave Cover)

We at Yara are part of a global network, collaborating to profitably and responsibly solve some of the world's key challenges - resource scarcity, food insecurity and environmental change.

About the Unit

The Field Agronomist & Biostimulants Specialist is the “face of Yara” down on the farm, delivering elite agronomic recommendations, leading the agronomic message calendar, and proactively reacting to market conditions.

This temporary role is specifically responsible for the Northwest region of Spain (focusing primarily on Galicia and Castilla y León). Beyond core agronomic support, this position plays a key strategic role in supporting the trial execution, positioning, and market development of foliar fertilizers and biostimulants across the key local crops (e.g., arable crops, vineyards, potatoes, and high-value horticulture).

The position reports directly to the Marketing & Agronomy Manager Iberia and indirectly to the Biologicals Manager Iberia.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor the regional trial program (demonstration and research) for foliar/biostimulant solutions and crop nutrition, ensuring rigorous protocol design, budget control, and clear communication of commercial value to farmers and distributors.
  • Lead and support the field development, technical positioning, and commercial adoption of Yara’s portfolio across Galicia and Castilla y León, with special focus on foliar fertilizers and biostimulants.
  • Identify specific local agronomic challenges where biostimulants and foliar solutions can deliver superior crop quality, stress tolerance, and ROI for growers.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with key regional Agricultural Research Centers, universities, and local advisory bodies.
  • Generate and deliver high-impact agronomic content tailored to Northwest crops for internal sales agronomists, distribution partners, and farmers.
  • Adapt messaging to seasonal weather conditions and local market shifts, leveraging social media and technical events to promote Yara's crop nutrition solutions.
  • Monitor biostimulant and nutritional market trends, regulatory frameworks, and competitor movements in the region to identify gaps and growth opportunities.
  • Analyze farmer practices, nutrient consumption, and crop trends in the Northwest region to feed into broader Iberian marketing plans and crop roadmaps.
  • Support the implementation of trade marketing plans by validating branded technical materials (leaflets, digital content, etc).
  • Jointly visit key clients, distributors, and farmers alongside the commercial team to drive technical validation and support digital channel initiatives.
  • Provide regional insight regarding product performance, registration requirements, and local quality feedback.

Profile

We are looking for a results-driven, commercially minded agronomic professional with proven field experience in crop nutrition and biostimulants. The ideal candidate excels at trial management, technical-commercial support, and stakeholder engagement across the agricultural value chain, with a strong ability to translate technical trial results into valuable commercial solutions for farmers and distributors.

  • Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, or a closely related field (Bachelor's or Master’s level).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in field agronomy, technical support, or business development within the agronomic, fertilizer, or biostimulant sectors (experience in Galicia and Castilla y León crops is highly valued).
  • Native Spanish speaker. Additional languages such as Portuguese are an advantage
  • Solid knowledge of regional crop nutrition, soil health, biostimulants, and foliar technologies, with hands-on experience designing and executing field trials.
  • Strong capability to build effective working relationships with farmers, distributors, advisers, and regional research institutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to create engaging agronomic content for technical materials and events.
  • Structured, proactive, and data-oriented approach to monitoring trial results, analyzing competitor activity, and addressing seasonal agronomic challenges.
  • Comfortable using digital agronomic tools, CRM systems, and collaborative reporting platforms.
  • Proactive and organized self-starter capable of managing field activities across Northwest Spain in a temporary role.

Additional Information

Preferred locations: Galicia, Castilla y León

Availability and willingness to travel frequently within the assigned region (Galicia & Castilla y León, and Portugal occasionally). Valid driver's license required.
