About the Position

The Vice President Iberia & Maghreb is accountable for defining and driving the commercial and business strategy across the Iberia and Maghreb region, in close coordination with local managers. 

This role represents the most senior commercial and business leadership position in the region, with full accountability for sales, marketing, agronomy, and day-to-day business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the regional Management Team to develop and execute Yara’s strategy across Iberia & Maghreb, driving the strategic transformation initiatives defined in the Business Plan and aligned with the Europe South Business Unit strategy.
  • Oversee Yara’s Iberia terminal operations ensuring safe, compliant and efficient handling and storage of products, driving operational reliability and cost competitiveness, and aligning terminal performance with regional commercial priorities and supply chain strategy.
  • Promote and ensure a strong culture of safety, compliance, and ethics, in line with Yara’s global standards, HESQ requirements, and Code of Conduct.
  • Define and implement a cohesive farmer-centric Go-To-Market strategy for the region, integrating digitalisation, crop and yield solutions, regenerative agriculture, and a strong, aligned distributor and value-chain partner base.
  • Drive the commercialisation and scaling of Yara’s regenerative and sustainable crop nutrition portfolio, including low-carbon, nature-positive and traceable value chains, in close collaboration with Farming Solutions, Sustainability, and Regional/Global teams.
  • Identify and capture new sales opportunities, strategic partnerships, and growth levers across key markets and product portfolios, working closely with Global Planning & Optimization, Transport Management Europe, Procurement, Production Plants, and Yara Europe Business Services.
  • Own the regional crop roadmap and lead the development of new solutions, application tools, and market opportunities.
  • Contribute to Yara’s scale and excellence agenda by fostering regional and global synergies and ensuring effective talent management, succession planning, and a diverse talent pipeline.

Profile

  • University degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Agronomy, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Senior General Management or Regional Leadership roles, preferably within Agriculture, Food, or Industrial sectors.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proven ability to build effective cross-functional collaboration and deliver results in complex, matrix environments.
  • Deep understanding of the agri-food sector in Iberia; exposure to Maghreb markets is a strong asset.
  • Fluent written and spoken Spanish and English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Strong digital mindset, with experience leveraging CRM systems and data-driven decision-making.
  • Modern leadership style with a strong commercial mindset, high energy, and a structured, inclusive approach.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and people-management skills; experience leading multidisciplinary teams is essential.
  • Open, approachable, culturally agile, and able to communicate clearly with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

  • Location: Madrid (Living in Madrid is required)
  • Travel requirement: Up to 40%
  • Contract: Permanent, full-time
