Business Controller

Yara Business Unit Nordics covers Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and the Baltic countries Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The core markets of the Nordic region are mature markets where Yara has very strong position and has been developing the role of market leadership with our Mineral Fertilizers. Yearly sales revenue in the region is more than 1 billion EUR. Yara products are well positioned among farmers. The region has a clear target to further deepen the end user communication and to position Yara strongly in the whole value chain of the next generation agriculture.
Yara has a strong and leading market position in Sweden with a sophisticated business model. Our farmer centric solutions are based on research and knowledge and include digital tools and other farming for the future products and solutions. We work in close collaboration with our distributor and food chain partners.  


We are now looking for a Business controller to Sweden who wants to become our new colleague and join our team!

The team consists of two Business Controllers dedicated to the commercial activities and you will report to our Director for Performance & Decision Support Nordics. The Business Controllers are dedicated to one or several markets in the region and have a close cooperation with the Commercial directors and the local commercial teams.

In the role as a Business Controller at Yara you will mainly work towards two areas: 
1) Terminal Operations Nordics, covering own Yara and third party operated terminals
2) Business Controlling for Market Sweden and other specific areas in Sales & Marketing Nordics.

Scope of responsibility in this role is regional (Nordic), however with most focus on activites in Sweden and Denmark. 

What will you be working with?
- Provide decision support, prepare management and KPI reporting, operational and business performance monitoring and analysis. 

- Facilitate the business planning process for the Nordic terminals and Market Sweden. 

- Develop, implement and govern one common practice relating to operational performance for the Nordic terminals. 

- Provide strategic and analytical support in the development of business cases, e.g. strategic initiatives/projects/ investments at the terminals.

- Support as a Business Controller relating to Sales& Marketing Sweden, actively supporting and challenge the Commercial Director and his/her team in terms of KPI setting, measuring KPI's and Strategic initiatives, resource-planning, volumes and price premiums. 

- Act as interface between the local Swedish commercial organization and Finance operation on specific tasks (e.g. Month-end closing activities, Audits, financial controls etc.). 

- Various ad-hoc tasks and projects supporting the Director, Performance & Decision Support Nordics

- Developing/improving/increase efficiency in controlling processes in collaboration with Director, Performance & Decision Support Nordics and others if applicable.


You probably have a master's degree in Business Administration, Finance or another relevant field for this role. You are secure in your role as a business controller and have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience from a similar role such as a business controller. If you have experience from working in a similar industry/business this would be an advantage. If you also have experience and/or interest in production processes this would be considered as beneficial.

As we work in an international context you need to be fluent, written as well as spoken, in English and at least one Scandinavian language, preferably Swedish.

You are used to working with different IT-tools and Microsoft Office, especially high skills in excel is needed to succeed in the role. We work with SAP (namely FI&CO, SD) and the HANA reporting tool, so experience from these programs/tools would be an advantage.

As a person you have great communication and cooperation skills as well as a fine eye for details. You have strong business analytical skills and a genuine interest in understanding and improving business processes.

Additional Information

The position is based in Malmö, Sweden, and some traveling will occur mainly within the Nordic countries. You will report to Director of Performance & Decision Support Nordics.
