Business Development Manager

Recycled nutrients used for fertilizers are part of future crop nutrition solutions, and Yara’s strategic goal is to offer these products to farmer segments in Europe. Following the acquisition of two organic/organo-mineral production units in the Nordic region, this position shall strengthen Yara’s ambition to expand our offerings into the organic farming segment in the Nordic region.

Responsibilities

The Business Development manager has a combined business development and product management role: 

 

  • Supporting the local markets as part of the specialties team in the Nordic region to develop circular products business in accordance with Yara’s strategy in Europe. Focus area will be Norway, Sweden and Denmark but with strong cooperations towards the Finnish and Baltic market teams
  • Responsible for the management and development of the product line together with relevant people in the commercial units and production units
  • Development of business opportunities from circular products, together with local markets and other Yara R&D units
  • Develop new products and concepts for markets in cooperation with the plants and local market organizations
  • Plan and follow up R&D activities in cooperation with local markets and other Yara R&D units/departments
  • Continuously searching for new raw materials and new suppliers of raw materials for our plants. Maintaining close dialogue with plants and Yara R&D units regarding potential new raw materials
  • Keeping track of legislation and regulations for organic products in the different markets and ensuring that Yara is following the existing regulations
  • Keeping track of competitor development and market development. Sharing knowledge about competitors and market information with the local markets

Profile

  • Relevant degrees would be BSc/MSc in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science or plant nutrition. Other educational backgrounds with industry insights into organic production processes, raw materials or bio-based products can also be considered
  • Proven experience in business development or sales within agriculture or related sectors is a clear advantage and can compensate for lack of formal education
  • Knowledge about circular economy and in particular recycling of nutrients is an advantage
  • Strong commercial drive and interest and ability to work on added value solutions
  • Ability to think strategically and act decisively
  • A structured way of working, having strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Proactive and development oriented
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as ability to work in international networks
  • Fluent in Norwegian and a strong knowledge of English is required

Additional Information

We aim to invite qualified candidates for an interview end of January/beginning of February.  

 

This position reports to the SVP Nordics. 

Some travelling is required, mainly within Norway and the Nordic region.
Office location can be Oslo or Rakkestad. In any case the right candidate will have to spend 1-2 days per week at the production plant in Rakkestad.
