Continuous Improvement Manager - BU Transport Reagents

We at Yara are part of a global network, collaborating to profitably and responsibly solve some of the world's key challenges - resource scarcity, food insecurity and environmental change.

About the Unit

Turn data into decisions. Ideas into results. Impact into numbers.

At Yara, we work to responsibly solve some of the world’s key challenges – resource scarcity, environmental change, and climate impact. Yara Industrial Solutions (YIS) is a global unit within Yara International, delivering essential nitrogen-based solutions to industries worldwide.

Transport Reagents is one of four commercial units within YIS and is responsible for Yara’s AdBlue® / Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) / Arla 32 business. Yara is the world’s largest producer of AdBlue®, supplying millions of vehicles every day through a global network of production sites, terminals, logistics partners, and customers. Our products are critical to reducing harmful NOx emissions and enabling compliance with increasingly strict emission regulations worldwide.

To further strengthen our global performance, we are now looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager, reporting to the Supply Chain Director, to drive measurable efficiency, cost, and reliability improvements across the end-to-end supply chain.

About the Role

As Continuous Improvement Manager, you will own and execute the Continuous Improvement agenda for YIS’s global Transport Reagents supply chain – from raw material sourcing and plant operations through logistics, terminal networks, and delivery to customers.

This is a hands-on execution role with a clear mandate: deliver tangible and measurable impact. You will identify improvement opportunities, lead cross-functional initiatives, and ensure that ideas translate into real P&L impact, improved service levels, and better working capital performance.

Working in close partnership with the Supply Chain Director, you will support the delivery of the BU’s supply chain strategy by turning data into ideas and decisions, KPIs into actions, and projects into sustained results – without adding unnecessary complexity or bureaucracy.

Why This Role Matters

In a global, asset-intensive business like Transport Reagents, small improvements at scale make a big difference. In this role, you will:

  • Directly contribute to lower emissions by improving efficiency and reliability across the AdBlue® supply chain.
  • Help drive structural cost reduction in logistics, storage, and inventory.
  • Improve service reliability for customers that depend on uninterrupted supply.
  • Support a supply chain that must perform even in volatile and constrained markets.
  • Play a visible role in delivering Yara’s sustainability and competitiveness ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive and execute the BU-level Continuous Improvement agenda, targeting sustained reductions in cost per liter/ton while improving OTIF and working capital.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects with plant operations, procurement, planning, logistics, and commercial teams – from opportunity identification to implemented results.
  • Identify and address structural cost drivers across logistics, storage, inventory, and network design.
  • Define, track, and report monthly performance KPIs (e.g. OTIF, cost per liter/ton, working capital, inventory reconciliation, terminal utilization) to the Supply Chain Director and BU management.
  • Surface performance gaps and blockers immediately and drive resolution with pace.
  • Support and, where relevant, lead strategic initiatives such as network optimization, third-party supply development, digitalization, and resilience building.
  • Identify, standardize, and roll out best practices across regions (Europe, Americas, Africa, Asia, and Middle East) where they create clear, quantifiable value.
  • Ensure that all improvement initiatives support safety, environmental compliance, and customer reliability, without introducing unnecessary complexity.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience:
    • 8+ years in operations, supply chain, or continuous improvement roles with exposure to plants, logistics, inventory, and terminals.
    • Proven track record of leading cross-functional improvement initiatives with sustained cost reduction and service improvements.
    • Experience working in international, matrixed environments.
    • Technical product knowledge of AdBlue® and its production requirements is beneficial, but not a requirement.
  • Capabilities:
    • Strong analytical skills and practical experience translating KPIs into action.
    • Deep familiarity with performance metrics such as OTIF, cost per unit, working capital, inventory reconciliation, and utilization.
    • Ability to identify root causes and implement improvements quickly and pragmatically.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively across many functions in Yara
  • Mindset & Ways of Working:
    • Strong bias for action and comfort operating without perfect data.
    • Outcome-driven, measuring success in euros, tons, and service levels.
    • Influential without formal authority; able to challenge constructively.
    • Thrives in environments with high expectations and low bureaucracy.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or Industrial Management.
    • Practical experience with analytics, dashboards, and operational data.
    • Lean / Six Sigma certification is an advantage, but proven results matter more than credentials.
