Our Direct Procurement (DP) team plays a vital role in the sourcing of key materials like Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potash, Chemicals, Carbonates, Coating, and Energy, while managing global supply chain operations and maritime logistics. Each year, DP sources around 15 million tonnes of materials, and Yara Maritime Logistics handles over 17 million tonnes of product. Our team of professionals, based in Oslo, Brussels, Geneva, São Paulo, Singapore and Cartagena, ensures reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable supply to Yara’s global operations.
We are now looking for a Contracts Manager to join the Nitrogen Sourcing & Trading unit within Direct Procurement at Yara. This is a unique opportunity to be at the center of global supply chain operations, helping ensure the flow of essential materials that support sustainable agriculture worldwide.

Responsibilities
- The Contracts Manager (for Brazil, LATAM and EMANA) will be the clear responsible for the operational review of all contracts for which Geneva is the legal counterparty.
- Verification of purchase contracts for these 3 units.
- Work directly with representatives of Direct Procurement to understand contract and spot sourcing conditions.
- Follow up upcoming deals and work directly with Yara Sales & Marketing as well as with Yara Legal on sales contracts and GTCs.
- Ensure to the extent possible that transaction contract terms (purchase, sales, charterparty) match and be aware of exposure due to deviations.
- Advise the Yara Sales & Marketing sales and Direct Procurement purchasing responsible about contract terms (GTCs, shipping terms), if needed.
- Act as a legal proxy to cover absence of Yara Sales & Marketing or Direct Procurement responsibles. Sign spot contracts or off-take addenda.
- Contribute to IDD reviews/processes.
- Research of Suppliers information in order to comply with the due diligence process as defined by Yara. Provide the Yara Code of Conduct to all Suppliers.
- Develop a framework with database/routes (process and KPI's) to monitor and measure contracts activities and processes both for long term contracts and spot contracts (including cost, customer satisfaction levels, supplier reliability, etc.).
Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in business or an equivalent field
- Excellent understanding of trading and cargo operations
- Min. 5 years of work experience in Procurement, Operations or similar
- Fluent in English with good communication skills (writing, speaking)
- Autonomous and able to work under pressure
- Proactive mindset with the ability to multi-task
- IT skills, SAP knowledge is a plus
- Strong decision-making & analytical skills
- Good teambuilding skills
- Understand purchase and sales terms contracts
- Good knowledge of Incoterms
Additional Information
This position is based in Oslo, where local terms & conditions will apply. The role may require some travelling to Yara sites and locations worldwide.
