Our Direct Procurement (DP) team plays a vital role in the sourcing of key materials like Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potash, Chemicals, Carbonates, Coating, and Energy, while managing global supply chain operations and maritime logistics. Each year, DP sources around 15 million tonnes of materials, and Yara Maritime Logistics handles over 17 million tonnes of product. Our team of professionals, based in Oslo, Brussels, Geneva, São Paulo, Singapore and Cartagena, ensures reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable supply to Yara’s global operations.
 
We are now looking for Dry Bulk Operators to join our Supply Operations team, part of the Nitrogen Sourcing & Trading unit within Direct Procurement at Yara. This is a unique opportunity to be at the center of global supply chain operations, helping ensure the flow of essential materials that support sustainable agriculture worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Execute dry bulk operations in line with charter party and/or purchase contract terms.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, agents and surveyors for smooth cargo operations.
  • Monitor voyage performance and manage operational costs.
  • Handle documentation, demurrage/despatch calculations and claims, and post-fixture activities.
  • Prepare and coordinate letters of credit, including follow-up.
  • Draft and manage sales contracts and purchase orders as needed, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
  • Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and company policies (e.g. HESQ/product stewardship, E&C).
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing to customers and control and allocate incoming invoices related to the operation.
  • Operate ERP and tracking systems to support real-time logistics coordination and operational efficiency.

Profile

  • Business diploma or equivalent degree
  • Good understanding of trading and cargo operations
  • 3-10 years of relevant experience in a similar position 
  • Fluent in English with good communication skills (writing, speaking)
  • Autonomous and able to work under pressure
  • Multi-task and proactive mindset
  • IT skills, SAP knowledge is a plus
  • Understand purchase and sales terms contracts
  • Good knowledge in Incoterms

Additional Information

This position is based in Oslo, where local terms & conditions will apply. The role will require some travelling to Yara sites and locations worldwide.
