Within the Yara Global Production (YGP) organization, the Procurement unit plays a vital role in the sourcing of key materials, goods and services, while managing global supply chain operations and maritime logistics. Our team of professionals based all over the world ensures reliable, cost-effective and sustainable supply to Yara’s global operations and services.  

We are looking for a Dry Bulk Operator to join our Supply Operations team, part of the Nitrogen Sourcing & Trading unit within Procurement at Yara. This is a unique opportunity to be at the center of global supply chain operations, helping ensure the flow of essential materials that support sustainable agriculture worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and monitor purchase and sales contracts for fertilizers.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, port agents, and surveyors for smooth cargo operations.
  • Monitor voyage performance and manage operational costs.
  • Handle documentation, demurrage/despatch calculations and claims, and post-fixture activities.
  • Prepare and coordinate letters of credit, including follow-up.
  • Draft and manage sales contracts and purchase orders as needed, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
  • Handling export and import documentation in compliance with internal and international trade regulations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing to customers and control and allocate incoming invoices related to the operation.
  • Maintain accurate records in the company’s ERP system and tools.

Profile

  • Business diploma or equivalent degree.
  • Solid understanding of bulk and container shipping.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in commodity trading operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Incoterms, trade finance and maritime logistics.
  • Autonomous and able to work under pressure.
  • Multi-task and proactive mindset IT skills, SAP knowledge is a plus.
  • Fluent in English with good communication skills (writing, speaking).
  • Experience working with Africa markets is highly desirable.

Additional Information

This position is based in Oslo, where local terms & conditions will apply. The role will require some travelling to Yara sites and locations worldwide.
