About the Unit
Within the Yara Global Production (YGP) organization, the Procurement unit plays a vital role in the sourcing of key materials, goods and services, while managing global supply chain operations and maritime logistics. Our team of professionals based all over the world ensures reliable, cost-effective and sustainable supply to Yara’s global operations and services.
Are you an experienced operator with a passion for global trade and shipping? We are looking for a Dry Bulk Operator to join our trading team, managing end-to-end execution of fertilizer shipments across deep-sea bulk vessels and containerized (FCL) cargoes.
Responsibilities
As part of a dynamic trading environment, you will:
- Execute and manage purchase and sales contracts from nomination to final delivery
- Coordinate with suppliers, shipowners, charterers, agents, and surveyors worldwide
- Oversee dry bulk and container shipments to ensure smooth operations
- Monitor voyages, manage costs, and optimize logistics performance
- Handle demurrage/despatch calculations and manage claims
- Prepare and manage Letters of Credit and trade finance documentation
- Ensure compliant and accurate export/import documentation
- Control invoicing flows and maintain financial accuracy
- Maintain data and reporting in ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Profile
- 3+ years’ experience in commodity trading operations, shipping, or maritime logistics
- Strong knowledge of dry bulk and container shipping (FCL)
- Solid understanding of Incoterms, trade finance (LCs), and global logistics
- Experience handling multi-region trade flows (Africa experience is a plus)
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple shipments under pressure
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English
- ERP experience (SAP is an advantage)
Additional Information
This position is based in Oslo, where local terms & conditions will apply. The role will require some travelling to Yara sites and locations worldwide.
