Infrastructure Architect

About the Unit

 

Information technology across Yara has embarked on a transformation journey. IT will enable Yara’s growth and digital ambitions, we will improve the way IT and business work together, we will develop a nimbler IT organization, and we will instill pride within it.
The Core Infrastructure team is the cornerstone of Yara IT and is responsible for Yara’s Network and Hosting Services. The team consists of Architects and Service Managers, together holding the end to end responsibility for the full lifecycle of all services within the Core Infrastructure portfolio.
In order to strengthen the team, Yara IT is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Architect with extensive experience in the network and hosting domain.
 

Responsibilities

 

  • Create detailed plans for integration of new systems architecture into existing infrastructure
  • Perform post-implementation reviews, participate in evaluating projects success, identifying best practices and lessons learned. Provide feedback to leadership and incorporate information into future integration plans
  • Drive standardization
  • Support building roadmaps
  • Support service lifecycle management
  • Create Project Architecture Documentation and Reference Architecture
  • Analyze system/functional requirements to ensure they offer adequate security and are effectively meeting the needs of the organization
  • Recommend alternative technologies and improvements
  • Thorough understanding of network technologies is a plus

Profile

 

  • A strong leader and communicator, good at solving problems and thinking creatively.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant professional experience – long relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal education
  • Excellent knowledge of infrastructure architecture and technology
  • Thorough knowledge of infrastructure components in a global environment specifically strong knowledge on network/WAN, application hosting and similar back-office services. Good knowledge of and experience with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF
  • Able and willing to take ownership
  • Degree, preferably Master, within Business Administration / Engineering / Computer Sciences
  • Innovative and enthusiastic about the opportunities created by new technology
  • Ability to translate business needs into architecture and design and assess the financial impact of architecture alternatives
  • Project management experience is an advantage
  • Knowledge of ITIL process such as Change-, Release- and Capacity Management
  • Good communication skills and experienced in interaction with business stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, defining targets and prioritizing tasks in a demanding environment
  • Structured, customer service minded, team-player, proactive and highly committed
  • English (fluent written and spoken). Other European languages are a plus
  • Comfortable in working in a multi-cultural, multi-language environment
  • Ability to travel on occasion
