Manager - Ammonia Fleet

About the Unit

Yara Clean Ammonia (YCA) is a global segment within Yara with the objective to commercialize, develop and capture growth opportunities within clean hydrogen and ammonia production, transport, market and distribution. The unit includes activities related to Upstream Projects &Technology, Commercial development of New Markets for Ammonia, Trade & Shipping, Product & Portfolio Management, and Central Expert and Support functions. To fully develop the business potential, the segment will also explore partnerships and collaboration with external parties, while ensuring the important role that ammonia plays in Yara’s integrated business model.

 

Preferred location for this position is Oslo but any Yara location in the Europe region can be discussed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliant and well-maintained LPG/NH3 vessels (own and chartered fleet)
  • Advise on HESQ aspects related to shipping and on-shore loading and discharge activities
  • Advise on shipping safety aspects and participate in Yara's business development projects regarding the use of ammonia as bunker
  • Maintain good relations and understanding between technical managers, vessel owners and ship and terminal personnel
  • Inspection of own and time-chartered vessels on annual basis incl pre-charter inspection
  • Follow up on nautical and technical issues related to our TC and owned LPG/NH3 vessels
  • Support the vessel operations team with ad hoc technical and commercial aspects

Profile

  • Master mariner / Deck officer class 1 / Chief engineer
  • 5 years sea service experience on LPG/NH3 vessels as chief officer or above
  • 10 years of shore based experience (Marine or HSEQ Superintendent/Fleet Manager /Commercial operation Manager).
  • Positive to work in an international and high paced environment
  • Be familiar with applicable rules, regulations and industry requirements
  • Good understanding of TMSA, SIRE and CDI processes
  • Good knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001 and 45001).
  • Experience with MOC (Management of Change) process
  • Familiar with HSEQ processes and metrics related to fleet safety performance
  • Experience with GHG standards and regulations (EU, IMO, US, Japan etc), product carbon footprint calculations, hydrogen and ammonia production technology and customer value proposition development

  • Professional attitude and ability to create partnership with external partners
  • Proven stakeholder management skills juggling requirements from multiple stakeholders - internal and external
  • International competence and cultural understanding
  • Well versed with MS tools to prepare reports, presentations
  • Fluency in English is required to liaise with business stakeholders
