Our Direct Procurement (DP) team plays a vital role in the sourcing of key materials like Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potash, Chemicals, Carbonates, Coating, and Energy, while managing global supply chain operations and maritime logistics. Each year, DP sources around 15 million tonnes of materials, and Yara Maritime Logistics handles over 17 million tonnes of product. Our team of professionals, based in Oslo, Brussels, Geneva, São Paulo, Singapore and Cartagena, ensures reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable supply to Yara’s global operations.

We are now looking for a Trade Accountant to join our Supply Operations team, part of the Nitrogen Sourcing & Trading unit within Direct Procurement at Yara. This is a unique opportunity to be at the center of global supply chain operations, helping ensure the flow of essential materials that support sustainable agriculture worldwide.

Responsibilities

Accurate and timely follow-up of trades, accruals and margins in SAP
Support operations with daily SAP accounting issues
Follow and prepare month-end closing tasks.
Assist Treasury with allocating incoming payments
Analysis of actual vs. budget lot sheet or contract
Follow-up of customer and vendor balances
Manage master data requests
Ad-hoc financial reports
Ensure compliance with internal control procedures on financial reporting
Support the audit process
Support operations in issuing Credit and Debit notes

Profile

Academic degree in accounting & controlling
2-3 years of experience in a trading environment / Accounting / Controlling in Commodity Trading
Experience with ERP Systems (SAP) and proficiency with the MS Office package, especially Excel
Fluent in English and good communication skills, both verbal and written
Proactive, hands-on, and able to work independently & accurately
Autonomous, able to work under pressure and team player

Additional Information

This position is based in Oslo, where local terms & conditions will apply. The role may require some travelling to Yara sites and locations worldwide.
