Introduction

This position is based in Christiana, Bothavile and Viljoenskroon regions mainly. The Agronomist provides technical leadership and market development support for Yara's premium product portfolio by delivering expert agronomic guidance, driving product adoption and supporting commercial growth.

Main Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical expert for Yara's premium portfolio, providing technical support to Sales, Marketing, distributors, agents, and farmers.
Deliver technical training, presentations, field days, and educational programs for internal and external stakeholders.
Develop and maintain technical resources, including product recommendations, application guidelines, technical literature, FAQs, and training materials.
Provide agronomic recommendations on soil science, crop nutrition, and crop physiology to optimize crop performance and customer outcomes.
Develop and execute market development initiatives through demonstration trials, field evaluations, customer visits, and knowledge-sharing activities.
Support the development of product value propositions, crop-specific positioning, application protocols, and demand generation strategies.
Analyze market opportunities, crop segments, and portfolio expansion potential while monitoring competitor products, positioning, pricing, and market trends.
Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to execute commercial initiatives, provide technical insights, and strengthen product positioning.
Manage relationships with selected strategic customers by presenting trial results, reinforcing product value, supporting purchasing decisions, and building long-term customer loyalty.
Provide technical and commercial feedback to support pricing strategies, market development, and continuous improvement of business performance.

Qualifications and Experience

Agronomy Bachelor Degree
Masters is a plus
Minimum 5 years of experience in Market Development, Technical Support, Agronomy
Must have experience in maize, soybean and nuts
Strong background in Plant Nutrition, Soil Science and Crop Physiology
Prior experience in Fertilizer, Plant Nutrition and/or Biostimulants related areas
Experience conducting field trials, providing farmers technical assitance.
Ability to interpret data and translate results into practical recommendations
