About Yara Pilbara
The Yara Pilbara Fertilisers' plant is one of the largest ammonia production sites in the world and we have also taken the ammonia process further downstream with the Yara Pilbara Nitrates Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) plant, a joint venture with Orica. Together with ENGIE, Yara Pilbara will also build a renewable hydrogen plant to produce renewable ammonia.

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Accountant who wants to build strong foundations in transactional accounting while gaining exposure to operational and plant finance.
This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who is comfortable working across journals, reconciliations, and Accounts Payable (AP) while developing skills in inventory, cost accounting, and plant finance over time.
You will work closely with the Financial Controller and operational teams, using modern tools such as SAP, Excel and digital reporting platforms to support financial accuracy, automation and business insights.
Key Responsibilities
Transactional & Core Accounting
- Prepare journals, reconciliations and accruals
- Support month-end close processes
- Maintain accurate and compliant financial records
- Ensure documentation remains audit-ready and IFRS compliant
Month-End Reporting & Analysis
- Assist with monthly reporting packs
- Support variance analysis and financial insights
- Contribute to maintaining financial data accuracy
Accounts Payable Support
- Support AP processing, coding and vendor workflows
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of AP transactions
- Assist shared services and strengthen AP controls
Automation & Digital Enablement
- Use SAP, Excel and Power BI to streamline financial processes
- Support the development of digital reporting tools
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and automation
Pathway to Plant Accounting
As you grow in the role, you will gain exposure to:
- Inventory and cost-of-sales accounting
- Bill of Materials (BOM) integrity and cost structures
- Plant cost driver analysis
- Forecasting, budgeting and KPI reporting
About You
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
- Early career accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail and data integrity
- Experience preparing reconciliations and supporting month-end
- Comfortable supporting transactional and AP processes
- Strong Excel skills
- Clear communicator with good stakeholder skills
- Interest in cost accounting, operations or plant finance
Desirable
- Experience with SAP
- Exposure to automation tools (Pivot Tables, Power BI, Macros)
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Familiarity with Shared Services models
