About the Unit

The Yara Pilbara Fertilisers' plant is one of the largest ammonia production sites in the world and we have also taken the ammonia process further downstream with the Yara Pilbara Nitrates Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) plant, a joint venture with Orica. Together with ENGIE, Yara Pilbara will also build a renewable hydrogen plant to produce renewable ammonia.

Responsibilities

Looking for an exciting new challenge? Yara are seeking applications for their permanent full-time role of Contracts Officer. Reporting to the Contracts Superintendent is responsible to provide contractual and commercial support that ensures best value for money in the procurement of goods and services in accordance with Yara policies and procedures. 

 


The primary responsibilities include:
•    Oversee the full tendering and contracting process for goods, services, and capital works, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and delivering value through competitive pricing and effective risk management.
•    Work closely with technical, legal, and HSE teams to prepare, evaluate, and negotiate tenders and contract documents.
•    Manage contract performance and administration, including variations, pricing reviews, insurance tracking, and accurate invoice processing.
•    Support internal stakeholders with commercial advice and build strong working relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
•    Processing of all service purchase orders, outline agreements and related activities in the Materials Management (MM) module of SAP ERP system.

Profile

Required:
•    Minimum of 3 years within a procurement and supply environment;   
•    Possess a high level of communication skills - verbal and written;  
•    Advanced Team Member participation with a focus of team within a team environment; 
•    Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Suite Skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams) 
•    Extensive knowledge of national and international vendors;  
•    Proficient in use of ERP (ie SAP) procurement related modules;   
•    Experience in oil and gas, chemical processing or Mining and Manufacturing processes; 
•    Background relevant to commerce and commercial activities including Procurement Law; 
•    Basic understanding of Account Processing and IT system
•    Fluent verbal and written English is essential.
•    Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency. Temporary work visa holders are not eligible for this role.
