About Yara Pilbara

The Yara Pilbara Fertilisers' plant is one of the largest ammonia production sites in the world and we have also taken the ammonia process further downstream with the Yara Pilbara Nitrates Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) plant, a joint venture with Orica.
Together with ENGIE, Yara Pilbara will also build a renewable hydrogen plant to produce renewable ammonia. 
You will be based from our Perth office on Adelaide Terrace.

Looking for an exciting new challenge?

Yara are seeking applications for the new, permanent role of Contracts Superintendent.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Contracts Superintendent will be responsible for managing complex major & minor service contracts, related commercial activities, and a small team of Contract Officers.

The Contracts Superintendent will: 

  • Oversee daily service contracts and related commercial activities, ensuring fair work allocation across the team. 
  • Ensure appropriate authorisation on purchase requisitions and other relevant internal and external documents. 
  • Lead the development and release of tenders, evaluate bids, and negotiate and assess proposals from business partners. 
  • Prepare final recommendations for award of a variety of complex and simple contracts. 
  • Review and prepare contracts to ensure accuracy and professionalism, particularly those requiring higher authority to commit funds. 
  • Management of business partner prequalification, through to performance evaluation requirements 
  • Manage team performance and contribute to formal performance management processes within the business.  
  • Work closely with user department staff to establish and maintain realistic quality control and contract schedules. 
  • Generate annual cost savings through effective personal and team strategies during the course of committing company funds. 
  • Efficiently utilise computerised procurement systems with a focus on contract and business partner performance, reporting, and cost control. 
  • Champion continuous improvement and waste elimination in contracting and procurement processes to enhance departmental contributions to operations.

Profile

  • Tertiary Degree in a Business Discipline (essential) 
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in contracts and supply administration. 
  • In-depth knowledge of contract laws and regulations. 
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. 
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and project management methodologies. 
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate contracts and commercial issues, drawing conclusions in accordance with Procurement Department policies and procedures. 
  • Competence in handling challenges related to resource allocation priorities, time constraints, complex contracts, dispute management, business partner performance, and payment releases.  
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP as well as Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office Suite applications. 
  • Fluent verbal and written English is essential. 
  • Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency. Temporary work visa holders are not eligible for this role.
