Responsibilities
- Develop a vision/strategy (road map) for present and future operations;
- Manage and monitor activities in accordance with operational procedures and work instructions established by the company, in order to ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System Policy and the Quality, Environment, Health and Safety Programs in force in the organization;
- Meet annual volumes and fixed cost targets by ensuring reliable and systematic operations, having a special view for the CAPEX competence use and productivity accordingly to the road map;
- Propose, defend, and implement the Business Plan for the coming year, managing the annual budget for both fixed and variable costs. Always aiming the end to end profitability of the site and the region in which it is part of;
- Prioritize and ensure site adherence to legal regulations and to Yara internal HESQ policies, creating the right sense of prioritization and funnel of decision;
- Establish site specific policies and procedures based on the framework set by the Yara Steering System;
- Aim to achieve excellence and continuous improvement in the overall site operation, always based in the YPS principles and Yara values;
- Analyze the need for investments and propose projects in adherence to the Capital Value Process, having the long term profit and return of the site;
- Ensure excellent cooperation within the region to share best practices and initiatives; to speed up the implementation and usage of such best practices and to achieve an optimal synergy effect;
- Ensure good relationship with Unions and/or employee representatives, to create a good climate for industrial relations, while pushing a performance culture;
- Promote good social citizenship with external stakeholders such as regulatory bodies, authorities, media, local communities, etc.;
- Secure workforce and succession planning, giving special focus to talents and critical positions; ensure a proper organizational design;
- Lead and support the development of all direct reports, maximizing competencies and alignment to business demands. Ensuring employees clear vision on Yara´s performance culture and values;
- Embodies a learning attitude, by remaining curious, and seeking out all relevant sources of information to excel in both technical and people related topics;
- Acknowledges, demonstrates, and encourages balance of work/private life.
Profile
- Spirit of collaboration, protagonism, curiosity, sense of ownership and respect for differences;
- Availability to work full time in Rio Grande plant, 100% face to face interaction (no remote activities);
- Availability to travel within Brazil (twice a month) and internationally (twice a year);
- University degree on Engineering. Preferrable: Mechanical, Chemical or Production;
- Post graduation in bussiness and/or people field is also relevant;
- Relevant experience in a complex site management, production management or project management in the (petro)chemical industry;
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma tools will be an advantage;
- Production technology prior expertise (specific for mineral fertilizers such as NPK, sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid or nitrogenous products such as ammonium sulfate, ammonia, nitric acid);
- PMP project management;
- Risk management;
- Strategic planning;
- Planning and execution of shutdowns and maintenance;
- Supply Chain management and Integrated Logistics planning;
- Administrative Systems and Data Control;
- People management skills;
- Theory of Constraints, Lean Manufacturing and TPS are relevant;
- Stakeholder management skills, in order to engage and have tha maximum collaboration for the site;
- Advanced English and Advanced/Fluent Portuguese (Brazilian Portuguese preferred);
