Director, Growth & Commercialization - Africa & Asia

About the Unit

Understand Yara’s core business, the needs of the markets and how digital technologies can be leveraged to drive new value to the core business. To manage and collaborate with stakeholders from the core business to conceptualise, define viable digital solutions, accompanied by applicable user/product requirements for technical implementation, and then drive the deployment of these solutions in markets. Measure and account for the business outcomes from the deployment of these digital solutions.   

Responsibilities

  • Represent DVCS as senior management of Region Africa/Asia.
  • Work closely with the country core business and senior management, to conceptualize, research and define the digital product strategy, priorities and timeline for the countries in the Region Africa & Asia.
  • Define, review and assess the user and product requirements for digital implementation that must be aligned with the needs of the countries.
  • Drive the change management required in the transformation journey and provide communication and clarifications on the digital solutions to ensure buy-in, active support and market adoption.
  • Understand local market and partner conditions, align portfolio priorities, embed local needs into product lines and develop successful GTM strategies for the digital products.
  • Develop the Go-To-Market plans to bring digital products to market, drive awareness and adoption by farmers and channel partners.
  • Lead and motivate teams in-country and at YAA regional levels.
  • Conceptualize new business models with the country teams for both the digital products and services across markets, channels and partners.  
  • Drive and lead the innovation and incubation of integrated solutions tailored to the channel and farmer needs in the region
  • Be the seamless link to global innovation and digital solutions for markets
  • Monitor and measure outcomes and impact of digital deployment and adoption and track against targeted goals.

Profile

  • Leadership with passion for driving the use of digital technologies in business, with experience at the intersection of agriculture business, digital technology and business innovation. 
  • Have prior digital transformation experience, or digital product development, marketing or digital operations.
  • Ability to build strong teams - trust and strong relationships within country, YAA and Central teams. 
  • Proven track record of driving ambitious product innovation agenda, particularly in the areas of digital models for the core business, new channels, digital value and food chain solutions.
  • Strong conceptualisation skills with a passion to be hands-on to execute, deliver and drive operations. 
  • Have a deep understanding of Yara’s products and business models, markets, opportunities and needs in the different markets across Africa & Asia.
  • Interpersonal and people management skills - ability to collaborate across teams in global and local context, towards the best solution for farmers and for Yara. Strong ability and willingness to lead and succeed through others 
  • Strong communication capabilities and ability to influence stakeholders, build networks across the organization and across cultures. 
  • Curiosity and creativity, ability to learn and adapt in an agile way
  • Minimum of 8 years of senior management experience, with international management responsibility.
